Samuel Merritt ELMSN FNP FALL 2020 Oakland

Hello fellow applicants, alumni, and SMU associates,

Can anyone provide insight into the application timeline for SMU's ELMSN-FNP program intended to start Fall 2020 (Oakland cohort)? The deadline to submit applications through NursingCAS was December 1, 2019.

-When should we expect correspondence to interview or for denial?

-Are interviews 1:1 or mixed, or both?

-When do final acceptances usually go out?

I also applied for the ELMSN FNP Fall 2020 program. @Olivia Horan @M_Freed I'm in the same shoes as you both! In the 'Checklist' tab on the SMU Admitted Student Portal, it says "your application is being reviewed" so I'm wondering when the next update will be.

Hi All,

I haven’t heard anything either except from NursingCAS stating my application was submitted (and later verified). I applied late September. I’m hoping we hear back soon!

hi Guys! just found this thread yesterday. I am on the same boat as everyone. I submitted my application in November. I haven't heard anything except the email from December verifying that my application was received. @milkbox what is the student portal you're referring to? I don't recall having to make a separate account with SMU. It was all through NursingCAS.

This is the Samuel Merritt's Portal website for their applicants: https://smuportal.force.com/Portal/TX_CommunitiesSelfReg

You can check your application status under the 'Checklist' tab. You sign up with the same email as the one you used for NursingCas. I learned about this through older forums.

Mine is under review as well. Older forums received news around Feb 6th maybe this year will be the same.

Thanks for the portal website, @milkbox. I found that my application is being reviewed. Years ago I applied to their PA program, which was going through a re-org, and I never received correspondence from the school (EVER). It was nice to see that the former application was processed and a clear "admission has been denied". Full disclosure ?

Also, @Heather_P, @ZMOtero, and @Steph Med, thanks for sharing your status.

Thanks everyone this is super helpful. I didn’t know that portal existed either. My Check list tab says that my app is complete and being reviewed. Hopefully we will hear back from them in the next week or so. Good luck!

Hi guys! I also applied to this cohort for the FNP track (first time applying to SMU). I also applied to the Summer ABSN. Anxiously awaiting a decision.. would be so great to get in and meet all of you! good luck everyone ?
