Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen anyone post about SMU's BSN program for Spring 2022 in Oakland. Is anyone applying? This is my first time applying and July 1st is coming up quick!

Hello everyone,

I'm also applying for SMU's BSN program for Spring 2022. Good luck to all of us!!

What are your stats? I know, fingers crossed! Did you submit your application yet?

Hello! Have you submitted your application yet? I feel like July came so fast. I'm currently finishing up my essays

@Sandrak

I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I will have to for some other programs I am applying to. I know what you mean! Not a fan of standardized tests, but I am happy they give you the option to take either one! Also, does anyone know when decisions would be going out?

No clue, hopefully sometime in November before Thanksgiving ?! The HESI is much easier than the TEAS. The reading portion, at least.

I received a 91.6 on the HESI. How about you?

Hey everyone,

Once we submit the NursingCAS application, is there any process we have to submit?

A 91.2% ?

Did you guys fill out the portion of the application where they ask about the impact the pandemic had in your pathway to nursing?

That's a great score!! Which part is that question asked?

I filled out the pandemic question. I used it as another spot to talk about my experience working in the emergency department. Hopefully they read it! I also used the “anything else you’d like to tell us” spot. Good luck to all of us! Now when the heck do we find out! ? I think last Spring, students didn’t find out until like mid-Nov for Jan start?!

Hey everyone! I am planning on applying for fall 2022. I want anyone’s advice. Currently I have an overall 4.0, science, prereqs, everything. I have anatomy and physiology to take before I apply. Since I apply in December, I will have physio left to take before starting in fall (if I was by chance accepted). I have taken the whole year of General chem, bio, calculus etc. Do you think I will have a chance of getting in with that physio class left outstanding? I will be a CNA in a few weeks, I have been hospital volunteering for 2 years now. Let me know of any advice, please and thank you!

I think they will LOVE all of your volunteer experience! SMU seems to really value community involvement over just good grades and test scores. So it sounds like you've got it all! Best of luck when you apply!

I think you have a great chance of getting in!! An advice that I would give is to pour your heart out in their personal statement questions. Make sure to reread it multiple times and revise it, if needed. Goodluck on your application!!

Anyone applying as a transfer for BSN? I know they extended deadline to 7/14. Wondering how many people will be applying.

@esimpson99 I applied as a transfer! I didn’t know they extended the deadline, maybe they didn’t receive a lot of applications??

I was thinking the same thing! Hope so. It’s been very competitive out there. Applied to 7 schools this last semester and only made wait list on 3. Not to mention the wait lists haven’t moved at all.
