Hey all!

I thought I'd start a thread for all SMU spring 2010 hopefuls!

If you've been around allnurses.com for a while, I'm sure you've seen my countless stressed-out posts about SMU and how I was hoping to get in for fall 2009, but that obviously didn't happen! Made it to #1 on the waitlist but noone dropped out! Ouch.

But here I am, ready to start in spring 2010 (hopefully---fingers crossed!) and I'm hoping I'm not the only one who's out there waiting to hear back from them. Let's go through this wait together!!

:heartbeat

Hi Bluechick,

Sorry to hear about your wait-list fiasco. You are so close, I'm sure you will make it this time. I have applied for the Spring 2010 BSN program as well and still haven't heard anything. I'm thinking late October, early November we will find out if we are accepted. Has anyone been accepted or denied yet?

Good Luck!

Yeah when I spoke with the lady in charge of admissions (we're not allowed to name names on here), she said that she'd be sending out notifications late October, but she also said that some may not be sent out until early November. I don't know what happened because when I spoke with her over the summer (the poor lady has been hearing from me since MARCH due to the fall 2009 shenanigans!!), she said that notifications would go out early October. Guess they had a lot of applicants! Eek!

Best of luck :) Keep in touch!!

Congratulation for everyone who applied and best of luck!

I found out about Sacramento cohort and was so excited at one point and really wanted to apply and was told by Liza that I have good chances, but tuition cost (I was interested in FNP) scared me. With what is going on around I decieded to try Sacramento State. I just applied, have around 85 or more points, so hope to make it, but idea of becoming FNP in just 3,5 years still in my heart. So good luck to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I might go back to SMU for masters. What do you think?

SMU has a very good reputation, so I'd definitely consider it for your masters.

Best of luck in wherever life takes you! :)

Thank you, bluechick! I will consider it.

I can't believe you made to #1 and nobody dropped out, so sorry for you. How about this time, did you get the result yet? So, this is your second time?

This is my second time, and no the letters haven't been sent out yet! The lady said that they'll be sending out notifications end of october/early november....so i'll be keping my fingers crossed!

Has anyone heard anything at all? Do we have a number of applicants or a number of those not from the matriculating schools that will be accepted? Any info?

Specializes in Oncology/Hematology.

I know that 15 transfer students were accepted for fall 2009 that weren't from the matriculating schools. However, she said that atleast double that are accepted for spring...

She also said that they will be notifying us at the end of October/possibly early November. Keep us posted if you hear anything! :) I haven't heard a word yet.

OK I'm going insane checking my mailbox like every few hours every day just to see if the mail has arrived. :)

I hope I'm not the only one! And please let me know once you've heard something!!
