Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2020

Hi All,

I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt ABSN summer 2020 cohort and just wanted to start one, as I know most of us are in the process of applying right now. I applied to the Sacramento campus, but am currently waitlisted. I just wanted to see if anyone has any recommendations on how to be more competitive aside from GPA (as I am going to retake some courses to up my GPAs). I love that Samuel Merritt looks at applicants holistically. Please share the wisdom , whether you are applying or you are already in the program. Thank you and have a blessed day !

the bottom says “accept your offer of admission” but under my application it’s still “under review”

@klew no, that’s not Summer 2019 prereq courses. I’m still waiting for Summer 2020 ABSN

Mine says the same. I wonder if it’s because we both were “accepted” into the prereq classes last Summer.

mine doesn't say to accept my offer for admissions, but my application is still being reviewed. does that mean I've been denied already and they havent updated it?! I'm having a panic attack!

LOL no, don't panic! It's because they haven't officially made decisions about who is accepted. Don't sweat it. A few posts ago, some of the other applicants reached out to the school and they said we may hear back early march. So keep praying ya !

I am pretty sure they consider all applications. ABSN notices just seem to have not gone out yet. Just a little while longer ?

my guess is that they will send ABSN notices after they start some of the interviews for ELMSN. based on posts from Spring/Summer/fall for the past 5 years, they have had people that applied to both programs, so it's possible that they want decide which program they want to accept people in to.

another fun fact from previous posts, when you go to the applicant's site and click the "checklist", around 5pm the day before the acceptances start rolling out, your profile will be updated. Many people found out the day before by checking their portal. maybe it won't happen this year, maybe it will!

I haven't heard anything either.

I called admissions this morning to follow up on the estimate they had initially given me that we would likely be hearing back by the end of February, and they told me to expect a decision for the Oakland (May) cohort by the end of March. :(((

I called and asked about San Mateo (Summer) and they said they'll likely send out acceptances some time in March (and have no idea what week).

Thanks for letting us know! Did you apply for April or June in San Mateo?
