Samuel Merritt ABSN Summer 2014

Published

Hi Everyone! I know this is a bit early but I will be applying to SMU for the ABSN program of Summer 2014 (Oakland Campus). I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in health science at CSUEB right now and I will be done in the fall. I just wanted to start a discussion on this topic and get to know some people who are applying to the program for summer 2014. Let's get to know each other, share our stats, etc.

Here are my estimated stats that they look at:

Last 60 units GPA: 3.5

Pre req GPA: 3.4

Teas: 83 but I am re taking it in a couple of weeks

Experience: I am a CNA and Med tech currently. I volunteer at John Muir hospital and at American Red Cross.

I hope to hear from some prospective applicants soon!

Hi Spatel! I got an email from -----------------, admission counsellor from San Mateo Site

Havent received anything yet...maybe Oakland is a little slower.

Did everyone submit their application via online for Summer 2014? Or did anyone submit a hard copy?

Do any of you applicants have any classes in progress?

Hi MsMarie,

I submitted my application via paper copy because I just noticed by chance close to the application deadline that it had switched to online. I also still have classes in progress.

I checked my bank account and they cashed my check so at least I know my application is in process.

I submitted the only app but my letters of recommendation were in paper. I don't have any pre reqs in progress but I'm finishing up my BS this fall. Did anyone who applied for the Oakland cohort hear that their app got transferred to faculty?

Have fun!! I wish you all the best!!

How did you like the program skperry? When did you find out you got accepted?

@Rachelynn

I applied to Oakland and haven't heard anything yet.

How did you like the program skperry? When did you find out you got accepted?

Haha I was wait listed for the Oakland campus but after reminding the coordinator willing to go to all campuses that were available for app period. I was accepted the week of orientation which was about 2 weeks prior to start date.

I loved the program. At moments I hated it because I was tired but after it all it prepares me for work and interviews. I loved my instructors they were extremely helpful and they want to see you succeed. I love all the faculty and administrators at San Mateo. They are awesome and willing to help when you have a challenge

Keep your heads up, when accepted try to prep your family and loved ones for the program. Remember every group is different. April/November in SM group has different instructors compared to June/Dec-Jan group If you need anything or have any questions feel free to MSG me

@skperry What number were u on the waitlist? I'm currently waitlisted for Spring and this wait is driving me crazy!

Hi Melissa,

Was not able to tell who u got the email from as Names are blurred out from posts. I emailed -----------. today and it seemed like they are going through each one by one and forwarding? She said she would not be able to tell me whether she received all my documents (electronic app but mailed recommendations) until she had my file in her hand.
