Hi Everyone! I know this is a bit early but I will be applying to SMU for the ABSN program of Summer 2014 (Oakland Campus). I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in health science at CSUEB right now and I will be done in the fall. I just wanted to start a discussion on this topic and get to know some people who are applying to the program for summer 2014. Let's get to know each other, share our stats, etc.
Here are my estimated stats that they look at:
Last 60 units GPA: 3.5
Pre req GPA: 3.4
Teas: 83 but I am re taking it in a couple of weeks
Experience: I am a CNA and Med tech currently. I volunteer at John Muir hospital and at American Red Cross.
I hope to hear from some prospective applicants soon!
Thanks for responding @spatel88790 and @msmarie I thought about spreading out my classes, I'm hoping to do 2 sciences for each of the next 2 semesters after I graduate. I'm looking for a school that offers pharm, patho, micro, or physio during the summer. Anyone know if they offer these in the hayward/fremont area? Or maybe even online? I'm even willing to commute lol
Here are the ones SMU accepts for pharm and patho:
Approved Pharmacology Courses | Samuel Merritt University
Approved Pathophysiology Courses | Samuel Merritt University
I took them both online with Yuba College. Micro and Physio are harder classes and have labs so they have to be in class. Most of the local cc's should offer them, even for summer.
MissBeee I'm currently taking pharm and patho at Santa Barbara City College online and the classes are not bad at all. Very Easy! They offer them throughout the year and summer. Take the classes with -----------------. Her tests are straight forward. I'm taking Pharm with ------------------ and his tests have some tricky questions.
does anyone have an update as to when we will hear back about acceptance into the program? the admissions counselor via email told me march, which seems unrealistic. when i called, they told me december. i am so confused!!! and i just want to know. if anyone has heard, let me know.
also, i havent gotten an email saying my application is moving forward. i have some classes in progress and will not have those grades until the end of december. is there anyone else on here with pending classes that hasn't gotten that email?
