Hi everybody!

My name is Phuong and I got accepted into the SMU- ABSN program for San Mateo (June 2012). I can't wait to meet all of you! Is anybody looking for housing in the San Mateo area? I'm looking for housing right now on Craigslist but am open to sharing an apt/house with other students in the same program. I'm also new to allnurses.com so hopefully this site is user-friendly and I'll see if anybody PMs me. LOL

ooh good to know! Thanks for the info! I went to FB to see if anybody started a group for our cohort. Haha that way it would be easier to communicate with everyone. Should we start one?

Has anyone started an SMU FB page for ASBN Oakland Class of 2013? I tried to find one but couldn't. I didn't want to start a duplicate page without making sure that I hadn't missed one that was already up and running.

If there is no Oakland ABSN 2013 Page, would y'all like me to start one? lmk

Also, I am so nerdily excited to sign up for classes and go to orientation. Would anyone like to do lunch or coffee prior to orientation? If so, I am in!

So I tried to start a FB group for the summer cohort for San Mateo. I got access denied because it said that I needed to add friends! LOL! So um yeah, maybe I'll wait for someone else to try and start one if they are already friends w/ other classmates OR we can wait till orientation. =)

I actually met with the financial aid office today -----. She had previous sent a email saying that packages would be sent out soon but I didn't get mine so I picked it up in person; I'm in the April cohort though and she did mention that she was working on Oakland's financial aid packages this week however it cannot be sent out until your deposit has been submitted. Hope that info helps.

I am meeting with someone from the financial aid department today (I am in the Oakland cohort). When I made the appointment, the person I spoke with said that she was going to mail out the packets for Oakland this week. She said that since I am meeting with her today that she would just give it to me then.

Not sure if we can count on getting them in the mail as they have not always adhered to dates given for other things. I will try to find out more today when I meet with her and post something if she gives me any useful information on when you guys can expect the packets.
