Hi everyone! :nurse:

So, the applications are due today (September 1st) for summer admission to ABSN program at Samuel Merritt. How does everyone feel about their application?? :up: :down: What campus did you apply to?

you kno on the bright side...it seems like only sf option people got called on, so it just maybe the other cohorts have not finalized there offer list. the real anxiety will begin if oakland and sm applicants get calls and I/We have not received notice...until them let that steam build!!!!

Is anybody applying to the local community college RN programs as back ups?

Bubbles313 got her notification on Valentine's Day last year close to 7pm, so hopefully, we will find out today!! Not sure why, but the longer we wait I am doubting the strength of my application more and more... :crying2:

emsaway - I don't think I am going to apply to the community colleges, I feel like it is even harder to find a job/new grad program if you don't have your BSN. Also, I REALLY want to do an accelerated program. What about you? Are you applying to the community colleges?

i actually think community college programs are even more competitive based on sheer number of applicants.

i can see people are beginning to have high levels of anxiety...just keep in mind that no oakland or San mateo folks have gotten a response. i dont think this is an indication of rejection...lets take a deep breath guys!

believe me i am as anxious as everyone else! but i don't want anyone of us to psyche ourselves out when in all likelihood no one from oakland and san mateo have gotten decisons.

Still no word here either. But I gave in yesterday and called the admissions counselor and the outgoing message still said that they were out of office 2/9 and results would be announced on 2/10. Grrrrrrr! Hopefully we all get in and can look back on this and laugh but this is getting ridic! I am not even stressing anymore because I'm not expecting a call/email on a certain date. Hang in there guys! No news for Oakland yet is a good sign (or at least not a bad one....). Still cannot believe we haven't heard yet. I did apply to a community college program as well but don't really want to go there what with the opportunity cost of having a BSN in 12 mos vs an AA---->RN in 2 years. That said, the Community College nursing programs are about 3% of the cost of SM...

Thank goodness for work to keep my mind off of this (somewhat). But if you are like me, you told everyone that you were going to hear back last week and now they are all asking me the verdict which makes not knowing even more difficult.

I just called, and it just says press one to leave a message.. I can't get through to a live person. Boo!! Katiebelle1 - I also told people I would have either a yes or no answer on the 10th. I think people are afraid to ask me if I heard back at this point!

Think about it this way... what will change dramatically when we finally find out this or next week? Will we quit our jobs right away? Will we quit our classes? It's just the matter of "inner peace". Relax, guys! We are all in the same boat. I haven't heard a thing either, yet I'm calm as never :-))) Let's just enjoy our lives now, before we actually start this crazy accelerated program (won't always have time for sleep).
