So, who applied?
I get the feeling that SM doesn't rush things... I am still without any notice of whether or not I can change my priority campus or where I am at on the wait list.... I guess this will be one of those moments that comes down to the wire.... if anyone who is also waiting patiently on the wait list has any news or knows anything about the San Mateo campus ( whether or not the cohort has been filled or if there is a waitlist) please let me know. I would really appreciate some comforting news... either way good or bad the wait is excruciating!! Thank you!!!
Regarding Financial Aid - I logged into My SMU and it looks like they've been compiling the information to get us set up for the process. I couldn't decipher the info however. Consequently I do suspect we shall receive our award letters very soon, which will explain the process and be able to complete the Financial AID process.
How exciting!!! I really want this part to be over with so I can feel confident I's going to nursin skool! ALso I talked to the SF Cohort contact re: books, and she said we'd be getting info the texts for the 1st module soon, so we can start shopping.
Blue22: Do you know where you are on the wait list for Oakland??? I was told about a week ago that I was like 12 ( I'm hoping this has gotten better) but I had also heard that the San Mateo Cohort may or may not be full. At this point ( if you cannot already hear the desperation in my writing) I would take any of the three cohorts!!!!
hii everyone! i just got my financial aid packet today - hope you all received yours too i'm excited! Just for the record - here's a list of the breakdown that was given in the packet to clear up everyone's concern!
Tuition $58,172
Books & Supplies $2,055
Personal $4,200
Transportation $9,000
Loan Fees $563
Health $4,800
Uniforms $500
Other $50
Utilities $3,000
PEXM $500
Graduate Fees $130
SBA $50
Living Expenses $19,200
Fees $1,345
Budget Total: $103,565
so that's where the 100k comes from. therefore, those with housing and transportation taken care of, that slices off about $30k. I'm eligible for a little less than 20k for the federal loans, which means i'll have to find the rest in private student loans. well okay then, good luck!
Does anyone know....can you take out MORE than 1 Private loan? For example, everyone seems set on the Wells Fargo MedCap Alternative Loan, but I'm also hearing that Wells Fargo is pretty strict when it comes to your credit report, and many people seem to require cosigners....some of us don't have easy access to a cosigner (being a cosigner not only means you're taking responsiblity for the loan payments, but it's also going to ding the cosigner's credit score as well).
I would think one could take out as many private loans as needed, but does anyone know for sure? (for example, let's say Wells Fargo approves you for $30,000 and Sallie Mae for $40,000).

Thanks for the update. I'm getting nervous....plus I need to give my notice at my job, and I can't do that until I know for sure I'm going to be able to get the loans! WHich I think I can do, but it makes me nervous none-the-less.
