I am currently taking the prerequisite courses and planing to submit my application as soon as I finish the courses, but I am now working 3 day a week, sometimes 2 days in order to support myself. I am wondering whether I am still able to work part-time if I got accepted, does any of you guys worked while you were in the program? Thanks.
Hi everyone, I heard from them today around 3pm. I got accepted to the SF cohort! My stats were really just about average. 3.3 GPA, 3.6 Science GPA, 83 for the NET. I have a lot of clinical experience as a CNA/caregiver. Just to let you know, keep your phone close! It was a call from a 510 number and she told me that calls were being made today-Thurs. Good luck to everyone!
Anything yet guys???? I got a call earlier from 510, but it was a job offer. BLEH. I was at my other job holding two cups of soup, and just dropped it.. OY, my future employer must think I am bonkers! I was sooo ecstatic to get a 510 call... but it wasn't Sam Merritt. ANYTHING YET GUYS???!!!!
Nothing here either...and I talked to my advisor who says that so far there is nothing entered into their system yet. SO basically they call who got accepted, then they enter everyone into the computer system which means our letters won't be distributed until that happens. (in the case of a denial). I seriously think that my head is going to explode waiting to know either way. I guess I'll have a better idea by tomorrow when/if there is no phone call.
You wouldn't believe the amount of emails I've sent since yesterday when they posted phone calls were being made. The only reason I even had that contact was because I've had to ask her so many questions. If you go to the admissions page there are emails listed for like the admissions director and a few others. I know they don't like us to post personal info on here so just check it out.
I have been reading this thread over the past weeks because I've been waiting, too, I'm writing under my wife's user name now. just wanted to say not to give up hope! I got a call today for the SF cohort! apparently they had my OLD cell phone number and had been trying to call me but weren't able to. I am SO excited and can't wait to start, but I am also waiting to see if I get into the San Mateo location since it's a bit closer to where I live, but either way I can't believe I'll be starting! good luck to everyone! and don't worry if one of your scores is low, my NET was low, but my GPAs were high and I have about 15 years experience as a respiratory therapist, so it all evens out.
I got a call around 3pm. odd because last night my wife had a dream I got my acceptance today and I was taking a nap when they called and thought about the other person who had a call around 3 yesterday!
I also had my home number on my application, so they just had to go back and find it.

Yeah... you know. I /have/ been thinking about this. A little time off from working full time and going to school constantly for the past two years wouldn't be the worst thing in the world! Plus, as much as I don't want to move away from the bay area, Samuel Merritt is a whopping chunk of change. Everything happens for a reason (most of the time I believe that)... and those who don't get accepted will have many other opportunities in the future that may work out even better for them! I've heard SF's program is a tough one to navigate... so chin up either way. It's so nice to be able to commiserate with other people going through the same struggles.
