I went to one of the information sessions in Oakland for ABSN and they suggested that you should not work if you are accepted. I would think it's because of how intense the program is and your time should be devoted to the program. Actually, I remember them telling us very bluntly that its impossible to work, even part time, while in the ABSN program. But who knows, maybe you can handle it!
Hi every one ,
I heard that they extended the application deadline to april 1st........maybe they didn't have a very large applicant pool....I don't know. I also heard that they allowed applicants from the previous application period(waitlisted) to reinstate their application to be eligable for this cohert.
......ebtide...you and I got about the same on our NET.. mine was 88. Thanks for responding.:typing
They extended the deadline? I just spoke to a friend that applied for the summer start back in November and she just recieved her acceptance. So I'm already guessing we wont hear back until after June, if she had to wait 5 months for any kind of news. Anyways, good luck to everyone!
I'm trying really hard not to wait so anxiously to hear back! My stats: 87 on the NET, 3.7 on both science GPA and my last 60 units. I've worked in health care as a CNA in both assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Any word on how many applied to the SF location for the fall start?
Oh god I hope we don't have to wait 5 months to find out! I think that it must have taken that long because they accepted applications for coherts for 3 locations that start in the summer. Probably took a long time to sift through all of those applications. Fall has only 1 cohert...San Francisco. So hopefully it will be faster.:typing
Hello, I also applied to SMU for 11/09. Che one of the counselor's there told me that there is a 50/50 chance of getting accepted when only one campus is open. However, when multiple locations are open for a term, if you meet the minimum requirements you'll get accepted into one or the other.
Conversely, I heard that USF had a 70% increase in the applicant pool for their MSN program. I expect that these numbers could also correlate with SMU. And, it may be even more competitive than as mentioned above.

I am currently taking the prerequisite courses and planing to submit my application as soon as I finish the courses, but I am now working 3 day a week, sometimes 2 days in order to support myself. I am wondering whether I am still able to work part-time if I got accepted, does any of you guys worked while you were in the program? Thanks.
