Hi guys...I apologize I should have got on to say something after yesterday but I was not really in the mood to do much of anything. I got the head of admissions on the phone and she did say that I was not accepted. She was drafting the denial letter on her computer as I spoke to her. She is very sweet and to be honest everyone who answered the phone was very empathetic. Lucky for me I managed to keep from getting choked up until i got off the phone. After talking to her I truly believe that they had a huge deluge of applications and nearly all of them were fully qualified. It's also the only program offered in fall so a lot of people sent in applications probably after completing their fall semesters. I am sort of trying to figure out what my next step is but don't lose hope. She did say that she is giving people the option to apply to San Mateo and Sacramento even though the deadline was yesterday. I wish all of you luck and I promise the crushing part of the bad news only lasts a little while.

Just spoke to admin. It appears that the 48 seats have been notified by phone, so if you didn't get called today you're not one of the golden 48. HOWEVER, the wait-list hasn't been created yet.. There's still hope..

mtarshis... According to previous posts, there were only 38 seats, and already, back on Tuesday I believe, someone was notified that they were #4 on the wait-list... I wonder why there is conflicting information?

Could be another cohort. I just spoke to the admin person, she said to call back Tues morning to find out about the wait list. Also my email from them said that i passed the first hurdle (200 apps to 140) for 48 seats.

I'm going to find out what the process is for applying to the Sacramento and San Mateo cohorts..

I am also confused about about the #38 and hearing that someone was on a waitlist but now hearing that there has not been a waitlist made yet... I don't believe there are any other cohorts awaiting acceptance at this time so that would not make sense either...

I am currently enrolled in a Pathophys class online and one of the participants let it out that she was starting the SF cohort about 2 weeks ago. Of course I wanted to know how she knew that already and she said that she had been accepted into the Oakland May cohort but because of a "timing issue" she was able to defer to the later SF campus in November. (It made me wonder why she was currently in the Patho class now... but I didn't push for a further explaination.)

However, I was disheartened to know that she was taking up one of those Golden 48 spots. With her there, that makes 47 and really, how many others are there like that??

No call for me today, either. Plan B is to keep on trying til something falls into place. Don't get discouraged guys, it will happen eventually :)

Hey guys. I checked out when I heard about my admission. I hope you all are still hanging in there ok?! We can't give up. And someone mentioned that 55k in debt, and with little job prospects... so why rush? Wait until the hype has died down. So maybe its GOOD that we get denied.... because then we'd feel really frustrated if we went in debt 55k and had no job. I've had a good two days to think of the positive aspects to the situation. I've now been denied a few times... from UCSF and USF, now Sam Merritt. I'm growing a thicker coat of skin here... just expect the worse, hope for the best for now. Try and have a good weekend.
