Hi everyone! Just wanted to get the conversation started for those who applied for the ABSN Fall 2019 cohort. I applied for the Sacramento location but would love to connect with all who applied in general! Good luck everyone!
Kinesiology degree gpa 3.2
last 60 units 3.5
science gpa 3.5
I am an Emt and I volunteer with Oakland youth every week.
References- microbiology teacher, supervisor at work and VP of health care for Sutter health.
I am actually looking into Fire seriously as they need women and I have been liking the EMT work that I have been doing. I changed careers last year to better help my application so I became a EMT but I like it more then a thought and Fire does a lot of that. Plus being a female makes it easier to get hired. But I will still be applying again for the Next San Mateo cohort and see if I get in if I don't this time.
Anne from Sacramento just responded to the email I had sent Katherine regarding applying for Spring 2020 vs waiting for the decisions. Her response was this:
“...we hope to have admission decisions this month. I understand the upcoming July 1 deadline, so I guess you should reapply just to cover your bases. Thank you. Anne”
Really? This MONTH?! ???

Wow that's horrible
It must be because one is out on baby bonding. I hope they refund the app fee if you get in.

This is beyond absurd. I find it hard to believe they can't actually adapt to one counselor being on maternity leave. If nothing else, they should extend out the July deadline since most professors are now gone for the summer and Fall applicants are left scrambling. This process really makes me question how the school runs.

My honest-to-goodness plan is to keep applying until they are so sick of seeing my application that they finally let me in. Grit, determination, perseverance... stubbornness.... whatever you want to call it! ?

When are you leaving? Are you able to stay and do the program if they admit you? I’m sorry to hear that you’re in a time crunch. There are MANY schools that highly value and give some priority to military members/spouses, though. I know all our community colleges as well as USF and CSUS do too. Best of luck to you and thank you for your family’s service. ❤️

I'm right there with you!
Although I will probably apply to more schools this time. I only did SMU this round since location and graduation speed were important

Does anyone know if rolling over your application to submit again has any affect on the current application? I’m worried I’m going to mess something up if I roll it over before they respond.
