Hello everyone, I haven't seen a thread for the ABSN Fall 2021 Start (Sacramento, San Mateo) so here it is. ?

OMG.... I'm shaking. I can't believe I made it in.

I still want to wait for official letter. Congratulations to all of you who got in. But those of whom who didn't please don't lose hope. I'm sure there'll be better time for you. 

I'll let you know of when I receive the official letter too. I wanted to know how those of you who got in are preparing for the financial aid and housing.

Fingers crossed for you! 

92.8% on the HESI 

science GPA - 3.8 

last 60 GPA - 3.6 

700+ hours as a residents assistant in a skilled nursing facility 

230+ hours of volunteer work at a local food bank

And 3 years of restaurant experience as a server.
 

To those that didn’t make it this cycle— don’t lose hope. This is my second time applying as I got denied from the masters entry program last year. Continue strengthening your apps and reapply! All the best! And congrats to those that made it!

Seeing how I haven’t gotten any updates I’m gonna assume I’ve been rejected or maybe waitlisted?? Really bummed but gonna keep trying! Congrats to everyone again who got accepted!

HESI - 94% overall, (96% A&P)

science - 4.0 (so far)

My undergrad GPA is 2.57 

last 60 semester GPA is about 3.7

3 LOR from an anatomy professor, one nurse manager, and one from the director of the program I work at  

8 years paid healthcare experience

In my statements, I focused on writing about working/goals of continuing to work with the underserved community.  I really tried to incorporate the keys words the school is looking for into my statements like diversity, compassion, integrity, etc...

the letter of intent for admitted students is due 7/30. So for those on the waitlist, maybe there will be more movement around/shortly after that date.

Hey Ann! Have you checked your Spam folder in email? I just checked mine and I had another email from the SMU that got sent to Spam titled "Preliminary ABSN FALL Award Letter" with info on how to apply for financial aid. Maybe because I have one Summer pre-req in session? Admitted student portal still says my app is being reviewed. I left a vm for the San Mateo admissions counselor (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). Hoping you may still get good news!
