Samuel Merritt ABSN Fall 2021 Start

Hello everyone, I haven't seen a thread for the ABSN Fall 2021 Start (Sacramento, San Mateo) so here it is. ? 

Has anyone waiting for San Mateo contacted them about admissions decisions directly? I sent an email to [email protected] on July 6th asking if there was an updated timeline on when we would be notified of admit decisions, but never got a reply back. Has anyone else reached out and gotten a response? 

I received the "Follow-up Decision" email that was sent out on June 25th, but it's been radio silence since then.

The counselors don’t have any information/couldn’t give any information. 
 

I just wish they would give us a solid date like other schools do so we know when we would hear back by instead of living in this constant state of anxiety.  Even if they told us decisions will be out on September 1,  I wouldn’t be so anxious and irritated because I know exactly when I will hear back.

I just the an email from SMU stating they finished their preliminary review for San Mateo…. ?

Yeah, if we just had a solid deadline this would be a lot more bearable. Doesn't sound like too much to ask right? Just checked that portal and there's no change for me, still says my Fall '21 app is being reviewed.

Hey Samsamsam, I haven't reached out to Admissions because of the vague deadline of "early July." I would assume we'll  hear back by this Friday because it will no longer be early July after this week. If we don't get decisions by Friday I'll be reaching out.

Hi everyone, I’m so glad I found this thread because I have been panicking alone not knowing what’s going on! I applied for the San Mateo campus for Fall 21. I emailed Derric back in June when I was getting impatient and he told me we would get notified of acceptance/denial before the end of July. No specific date. I took that as, we won’t find out until the end of July ? I also did not reapply July 1st because nothing would have been different from my application! I guess I could have reworked my personal statement a little bit. At this point I have no idea if I’ll get in. I’m on the waitlist to retake micro next semester in case I don’t, and then I’ll reapply in December. This has definitely been a really long and dragged out process. I hope we all find out soon enough so we know how to proceed with our lives! 
oh I forgot to mention, I created an account on the admitted student portal and my application says it is under review as well. I guess I’ll keep checking everyday. But someone mentioned reaching out at the end of this week if we don’t hear anything and I think that’s a good idea.

Hi all! Long time listener, first time caller (I think I just aged myself)

I started a separate forum for those of us on the waitlist for Sacramento:

 I started at #10 and as of last Wednesday was #8. Figured it would be nice to update each other as we hear more! 
 

congrats to those that have gotten in, and I hope you hear soon San Mateo!

Hello All,

I just got off the phone with Samuel Merritt. No new updates - they are unable to provide us with a date when we can expect a decision email. The person I spoke to on the phone just said we will get an email when they make their selection and send it out. ??
 

I pointed out that we received an email notifying we will hear by end of June/beginning of July & it’s now mid-July; can they send us an update email to let us know of the delay and new timeline & the person on the phone said they can’t do that either. 

Hopefully somebody else will have better luck with finding info! I’ll email a counselor to see if they know anything. 

I really hope we hear back by next week, this is ridiculous.

Thanks for checking with them. I assume we’ll find out by the end of next week since Sacramento found out the end of June it makes sense San Mateo finds out end of July. But this has been an agonizing process ? I plan on reapplying in September and/or December just in case I don’t get in this cohort. At least now I know what to expect.

The wait is finally over San Mateo. I checked the portal 10 mins ago and I've been admitted!!
