This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to Samuel Merritt's Accelerated BSN programs in San Francisco, Oakland, or San Mateo for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission. San Mateo had a July 1 and Nov 1 deadline, I applied to both. I received a letter the first week in November (in regards to the July 1 deadline) that I was number 48 of 50 waitlisted. This was the first I heard from them regarding that application!! So I am pretty sure I will not be offered admission to that program. Does it seem like a long time that it takes approx 3 1/2 to 4 months to hear anything regarding admission?
I don't know if being waitlisted once will help my chances of getting into any of their other programs or not. I emailed them shortly after the November 1st deadline to find out how long before we will hear anything. And they said they will not be sending out admission offers until at least mid-February!!
I would love to hear from anyone else that has experience with Samuel Merritt's admission process especially from those that were accepted recently. Does anyone know how many applications they receive?
I think mine was about a week and a half to 2 weeks before the deadline. That would be the dumbest thing ever if it was first come- first served. But I am interested in replies to see when everyone turned theirs in... maybe there's some truth to it!
The good stats thing is what gets me... If I at least knew WHY I didn't get accepted maybe I wouldn't be taking this so hard. (I am taking this a little harder than I thought I would.)
I am no 12 but mine was postmarked on the deadline date.(march 1)
That really would be crazy if they did a first come first served kind of thing. I really doubt that is their process, but who knows at this point? I'm #13 on the wait list and I post marked mine on march 1.
Does anyone who got accepted know when their deposit is due? (I figure this is the time when they will start calling people on the waiting list..)
Have they finished contacting everyone that has been accepted/waitlisted?
I am #13 on the waiting list, though I had to email them to find this out. I still haven't received anything "official" (letter, call, etc), just found out because I emailed the counselor assigned to the cohort and she let me know. I don't know the official process, but it seems that some people got calls and some didn't, but I'm not sure how they are contacting everyone. Fingers crossed for everyone!!

I turned mines in on the due date....
If that's the case, omg! And in terms of applying for Jan cohort which deadline is in 3 weeks, I'm screwed!
