Hello,
I had an interview today at a long term care facility for an LPN job. It was my 2nd interview... Anyway, it was a great interview and I was offered the job, started paperwork, did the drug screen etc, BUT amid all the excitement -- I FORGOT TO ASK WHAT MY PAY WAGE WOULD BE! After I left, I called the facility but the nurse supervisor had already went home for the day. I feel like a dunce not asking, even after being asked if I had any questions! Shall I call tomorrow? Should I just wait until HR calls me back after my background check and drug screening clears?
What should I do?
Well, yes it does make a big difference, to me. McDonalds employees in some cities in my state are getting upwards of above 12, 13, 14 dollars per hour. With having much more education, I would hope that I could get a wage that was more than a dollar more than those working at McDonalds. Wouldn't you?
I've noticed in the Los Angeles area, where the minimum wage is increasing to $15/hr by 2020 in the city and being discussed for the county, that LVN job opportunities are still being advertised for $15 an hour. Raising the minimum wage for the local McD's employees is not bringing about any changes for licensed workers. So, knowing the wage before signing on the dotted line would be important, if for no other reason, to see where you stand in the scheme of things.

I personally never accept a job without a written job offer in hand which includeds information on wages, benefits and job description. When I received my offer letter from my current job it took me two days to return it as I wanted mt attorney to review it. They thought I had rejected the offer when I didn't return it immediately. But after some ahggeling over details I took the job and have a good relationship with my employer.
