Anyone accepted for the Fall 2008 semester? I just got my acceptance letter!!! Yay!!! :) :yeah:

I was wondering in 0ne 0f the essay questi0ns. Why you would wanna go to SVCM? I've been trying to search all over about the school, I couldn't find much inf0rmati0n. Any suggestions anyone? is it advisable to apply to their school? coz I failed eng101 and for sure I couldn't go into any cuny school program. So, I'm really worried right now about my situation. I wanna congratulate everyone who got in, I wish you all the best. I'm so jealous and worried right now. Hmph. OH yeah are they really strict with accpeting people?

Hello Dtabaria,

Congrats on getting accepted. How long after you took the test did they call you for an interview? Also how long after the interview did they let you know you got accepted? I also applied for the fall 2009 semester....just waiting to hear something. Thanks in advance for any info.

I think i took the exam on february 28th and they said that it would take a week or two for the results. I called them a week later and they hadnt received the results and to try back in a few days (I didnt get a copy sent to my house so i didnt know when they would get them) so i called them a few days later and they said my scores were good (94 percent in math 76 in english which is weird for me because i got 98th percentile in english on the NLN-PAX) and asked me to come in for an interview. I had my interview on march 10th, got married on march 15th, and found the letter of acceptance waiting for me when I got home from Dallas on march 23rd. Hope that helped!

I didnt like the interview at all by the way- very typical questions (which i hate) like "why do you want to be a nurse, what does nursing mean to you, why should we choose you over everyone else" and I felt like I didnt have anything to say that set me apart from anyone else, so I was afraid that I wouldnt get in, but I did!

I think I have decided to attend St Vincents (I also got into Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing and I only have a few more days to make my decision between the two) - did anyone else get in yet??

Hi,

I also got into St. Vincent's Queens Fall 2009, I did not bother applying to Beth Israel. I was wondering if any of you are concerned with the possibility that St. Vincent's may close down or have to change their name due to how some hospitals have been closing down. I only have a few days to decide, deposits are due mid-april. Any thoughts or concerns anyone else is having?

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone got their information packet yet. I got accepted and I'm still waiting for my packet. I really don't know much about the school especially since they don't have much information on there website.

well there is the deposit, did you already pay that? I still haven't so i don't know anything about the information packet. I'm paying this week! anyone know what month they usually do the orientation?

I already sent in my deposit and I got an email saying that I will be receiving my information packet in the mail. Its been 3 weeks already. I guess Ill just wait a lilttle longer.

svcmc of queens has not been a part of a hospital for some time now. this does not affect your clinical rotation or nursing education. i am a senior and the only things that have changed are: clinical will be held at LIJ forest hills instead of st johns queens and queens general in lue of mary immac. hospital. the instructors are the same. and the corriculum unchanged..... not to say that SVCMC doesnt have its problems, but what school doesnt? all credits are transferable to Bsn programs as garunteed by NYS higher education. and to add, if you are taikng coreqs while at svcmc all those coorifice are taken and queensboro comm. so there is no truth that NLN not sponsoring SVCMC has anything to do with transferability of credits.... reasearch your choices and choice the one that suits you the best.. i am almost done and if i had to do it over i would choose SVCMC again...

you will here form them. the school prides itself on focusing on its soon to be graduate RNs. remember your orientation/admission is also the same time as the senoirs graduation. so they are getting everythimg fine tuned to send there graduates to the Nclex and working enviornment prepared. just be patient, soon you will be there focus of attention like we are..... and congrats! the majority of instructors are the best at what they do...you will love it...

Thank you. Congrats to you that you're graduating soon. Good luck on your Nclex.
