Good Morning everyone,
I am so excited that I finally got into Nursing school. I got an email this morning from SJC advising me that I got accepted to the nursing program for spring semester. I originally applied for Fall'18 because I was told by the admissions that they only accept Fall admission. But low and behold a few weeks later I got an email from them stating that a few spots opened up and if I would like my application put in for Spring '18. That was a no brainer, so I dutifully accepted and the wait almost killed me lol. Finally got an email this morning and I began screaming. Finally guys, it's been a long grueling journey that I thought would never end. I have all As and a couple of Bs in my prerequisites but my overall GPA is 2.9 which is pretty low and I had almost given up on getting into any program. I also got accepted into a weekend program in Dominican College but the transportation was a little to much to go upstate and I had a few more prerequisites that they needed me to complete. Please if anyone got accepted or is an alumni I would love to hear your thoughts on the program and any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.
@louismimi congratulations on being accepted and starting this wonderful journey. Although it's been a long journey I know its been worth every stressful moments that led you to this path.
@onesio Hi onesio, my advise I always give is don't think about applying and apply. Always stay true and positive to your goals. This is a wonderful field and a great career choice. When applying make sure and follow up with any questions that you are unsure of. If there is still an essay portion, write it. Although I didn't, I believe that this can help set you apart. Let them get to know you beyond your transcripts. Good luck, you can do this.

Hi, @sweetkeish I'm suppose to register this Tuesday with the director of nursing. unfortunately I have a few pre requisted to complete. I don't know which classes I'm taking yet if they will include the nursing seminar. what classes are you taking this semester? maybe well pass each other on campus.
@louismimi Hi, sorry for responding so late. For some reason I am not getting alerts sent to my email anymore. so I only see the message when I log on. I guess with the updates I have to set it up again. This semester I am taking Peds, medsurg, pharm and evidence base research. I hope registration went well and hope to see you on campus. Best of luck with this semester
@sweetkeish Hi, I haven’t been getting any notification either . I happen to be on the website and I see .I don’t know what’s going on with this website since the upgrade. Which hospital are you using this semester for clinicals. Unfortunately I have some pre requisite to complete before I get to the nursing phase. So far I’m liking the school.
Hi @louismimi, yea im still not getting any notifications either. Im glad your experience is going well. Don't worry, time will fly while taking your prerequisites and then you'll be graduating. This semester I'm at Brookdale. Other students are at flushing, wood hull, kings county and north well.

My pre req gpa is around 3.3 but overall is not that good . Barely made it to 3.0 because i took forever to decide what i wanted to major in .
Are there any more pre req classes st joseph requires before starting nursing program ?
What are the chances of me getting in the program with that grade ? Do they require any admission test like (pax or teas ) ?
Also hows the tuition ? is it really expensive ?
