Saint Joseph College Brooklyn Spring 2018

Good Morning everyone,

I am so excited that I finally got into Nursing school. I got an email this morning from SJC advising me that I got accepted to the nursing program for spring semester. I originally applied for Fall'18 because I was told by the admissions that they only accept Fall admission. But low and behold a few weeks later I got an email from them stating that a few spots opened up and if I would like my application put in for Spring '18. That was a no brainer, so I dutifully accepted and the wait almost killed me lol. Finally got an email this morning and I began screaming. Finally guys, it's been a long grueling journey that I thought would never end. I have all As and a couple of Bs in my prerequisites but my overall GPA is 2.9 which is pretty low and I had almost given up on getting into any program. I also got accepted into a weekend program in Dominican College but the transportation was a little to much to go upstate and I had a few more prerequisites that they needed me to complete. Please if anyone got accepted or is an alumni I would love to hear your thoughts on the program and any feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you so much. Yes it's difficult, but with some prioritizing it's doable. I'm getting a little better with prioritizing such heavy loads.

Hi , @sweetkeish how are the classes at st Joseph college ? How are clinicals? Which hospital do they use for clinicals. I applied for the spring 2019 on Brooklyn campus as a transfer student. I been place on the waiting list for the spring.

@michiboo I applied in September for the spring 2019 and I received a letter in the mail by October saying that I have been placed on the waiting list for BSN . I won't get a final decision until December or the first of week of January because classes start January 16. If you looking to apply you still have time but it's fills up a quickly . The earlier the better

Ok that's not a bad wait. Only one month. What gpa did you get in with? I have really good score in my sciences A and A- it's the stuff prior to me deciding to go into nursing that has my gpa at a 2.8 now.

I was also intially told when I inquired at SJC that a 3.0 is needed and only accept students in the fall.

@michiboo they keep saying that they accept fall only when they take spring applicants also. My gpa is 3.3. There are some people that got in with a 2.9 GPA. You have s good shot in getting in . You should apply

Thanks. I'm interested in the Brooklyn campus. I tried calling numerous times today. I will pay a visit this afternoon.
