Hi all,
I haven't seen very many Sacred Heart University online FNP reviews. Spoke with an advisor and I like how the program is geared towards full-time working students. Any opinions?
Thanks in advance!

I did my MSN (management, not NP) through Sacred Heart. Standard education, discussion board post on Wednesday, responses on Saturdays. Expensive school for what you actually get, but I think it was about par for the course with on-line education these days.

It is a good program, but (like any NP program), difficult to manage with a job and a family. With that being said, it is doable. I feel that the professors want you to succeed and, for the most part, are very responsive. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out to me.

Hello,
I am currently on my 4th semester out of 7. at SHU ( FNP-online). The program is well structured, most professors are very nice. The advisors are helpful. The program is doable, however there is a lot of studying involved and minimal breaks. I currently work full-time as well
you have to find your own clinical placement for this program. They accept NYS students, however NYS students are not allowed to complete their clinical hours in NYS (NYS policy). if you have any specific question let me know!

Hey! Did you ever finish this program? I am thinking about entering for Fall 2024? I haven't really seen a lot of people talk about this program.

I completed the program in 2021 and have been practicing as a FNP for almost 3 years. The program was very difficult to complete with a family and while working. Out of 20 nurses that started with me in 2019, only 7 of us continued through and graduated together. You will need to be disciplined and will need to secure your own clinical sites. If there is a program that has contracts with clinical sites, I'd highly recommend pursuing that instead. Good luck to you!

Thank you so much! I am between this program and Quinnipiac's, but it seems that Quinnipiac's is significantly longer but do place clinical. I am transferring 9 credits from another program so I'm hoping a combination of that and working from home will make it a little bit easier? Did you work in the hospital while in school? Thank you again for your insight.
Hi Lauren!
Yes!! I finished the program this past December. Commencement was yesterday actually. I enrolled at Quinnipiac for my Doctorates, I know you're debating between SHU and Quinnipiac. I honestly like SHU better than Quinnipiac.
I would recommend SHU's program.

Thank you so much Lynn! Congratulations on complete the program! I really appreciate it as I was having a hard time finalizing where to attend. How was it for you finding clinical placements? I am going the PMHNP route.

@Lauren BSNRN I'm set to begin the SHU PMHNP program in Fall 2024. If you decide to enroll, we would be starting the program together and could stay connected if you'd like.
@FatimI did end up enrolling for Fall 2024! We should definitely connect!
@Lauren BSNRN Great ! what is your email address? I will email you.
