Hello! Welcome, and Good Luck, everybody applying!

I hope you were able to enter your English 1A grade on "written communications" and English 1B grade on "critical thinking" because I believe that's where they belong to...

This is definitely what I was thinking. I'm confused as to how you could use 1B instead of 1A for the "English" requirement. I used both to fulfill the "written communication" and "critical thinking" requirements.

How many points did everyone apply with? Any ideas as to what the point cut off will be for fall? The nursing stats posted on the nursing website are from last fall, I feel like it’s going to go up like crazy

I applied with 77. And although the statistics haven't been posted, I know the last person admitted to Spring 2020 had 67 as well. So it's been 67 all 3 semesters since they changed the values. So I'm guessing it'll stay near there. Heidi said if you're at 70 or above you've got a pretty good chance. Although she can't guarantee it, of course.

What did you apply with?

True, but then fall might be a little more competitive. I applied with 73. Definitely wanted to apply with more, but I took the TEAS the day before the application was due, probably should have given myself some time to retake it. Now I'm just praying for the best.

She actually said more people decline in Fall because there are more programs offered at other schools. They typically go farther into the waitlist for Fall than for Spring because people don't have many other options in Spring. I think at 73 you have a very high chance! No guarantees, but I'd say you're likely in, not even on the waitlist.

Oh OK, that does make sense. And good job with your stats, they look solid!

That’s right! I forgot 1B could be used as critical thinking. I took English 1C to fulfill that requirement!

I applied with 73 as well. As JOtt123 said, the cutoff has remained relatively stable and I think if there is a jump, it wouldn’t be too drastic. I’m told we have very good chances where we are. Also, as I’ve previously mentioned, they will email stats out about this application round before verification so you could use that to gauge your chances.

Hi All,

Good luck to all of you! I think we all can relate to this agonizing waiting game now. I think I'm on the border. Here goes nothing!

  • GPA: 4.0, no classes ommitted or repeated - 40 pts
  • TEAS: 87.3 - 16 pts
  • Optional Criteria: 15 pts; all except I'm not bilingual
  • Total Points: 71

Some mentioned Heidi will send averages after a few weeks of the application window closing. I'll be sure to check my Spam folder like a mad woman! Thanks all for the pointers and support.

Hi, everyone! I'm in my first semester at the Sac State nursing program, so I thought I'd reach out and say good luck! Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi lishanhill! Quick question... which will likely lead to more. When did you get your schedule?

Thank you for offering up your help!

Hey @JOtt123 we didn’t get our schedules until pretty close to starting... I believe it was around orientation which was maybe 2 weeks before starting. You do not get to choose your schedule and there are basically 2 and which one you get depends on what clinical group you get assigned to. You’ll either be “an even” or “an odd” and your schedule will depend on that. Everyone in the cohort takes the same 3 classes (12 units) total.

The safest way to plan at this point is to count on being at school or clinical Monday-Friday. During front loading (the first few weeks of school) you’ll be there basically every day full time.

After front loading and clinicals begin, the “evens” have mon-thurs and they are all long, full days. The “odds” are on campus or at clinical mon-fri but the days are not as long.

*Disclaimer: this is how it is this semester; I have no idea if there would be any changes for fall.

Hey guys! Do we receive emails on our personal email or CSU email?
