I do as well! I looked at same point tiebreakers and I do win with higher non-adjusted GPA (no omits) and fewest repeats (no repeats). Then they look at TEAS and mines not too bad at a 92 so I’m trying to stay positive that I have a good chance of getting in or at least being top 5 or even 10 on the waitlist!

I’m sitting right at 73 points so lets hope I’m either in or at least high up on the waitlist!

I’m hoping that if enough of us say something when they release the news to us, they’ll end up keeping us for the Spring 2021. As I’ve said, I just think this would be fair to those of us who applied this round and would’ve gotten in this round. We would be competing with at around twice as many students for Spring 2021 spots and they don’t go too far down the alternates list that semester. I hope to hear more information about their plan and I hope they compensate current nursing students in some way shape or form. It’s unfair to have gotten through half the semester and get absolutely zero credit for it.

I was told of this by my friends in the program as well. What I’m hoping they’ll do is admit this batch for Spring 2021. I personally think it would be unfair to compete with an entire batch of nursing applicants so I’m hoping they hold our admission and guarantee a spot for us or they’ll give us extra points.

I applied with 73 as well. As JOtt123 said, the cutoff has remained relatively stable and I think if there is a jump, it wouldn’t be too drastic. I’m told we have very good chances where we are. Also, as I’ve previously mentioned, they will email stats out about this application round before verification so you could use that to gauge your chances.

That’s right! I forgot 1B could be used as critical thinking. I took English 1C to fulfill that requirement!

Here is the repeat policy that applies to your situation: - Repeats are evaluated based on content; not course numbers. Any course which satisfies a content area is considered an attempt. If you took English 1B second, that is considered a second attempt because English 1A is your first attempt. If you want, I could send you the email Heidi sent me years ago when I asked her about Chemistry privately.

I know the application is now closed but I understand that but they both fall under English, just like both of my Chemistry classes fall under the Chemistry requirement even though they were different Chemistry classes. If you don’t use the one you took first that satisfies the prerequisite area it does count as a repeat.

Either way, I believe it would count as a repeat if you didn’t use your first attempt english grade. I remember I started a 2 semester Chemistry class and then I decided to take just a 1 semester Chemistry class to get it over with and Heidi said it would it count as a repeat if I decided to use the grade from my second attempt Chemistry class so I ended up dropping the class halfway through and ended up finishing the 2 semester Chemistry class to not lose the optional points. If you already repeated a class, you already miss out on the points and you could then use the second english grade since you won’t lose any points already. You also have the choice of omitting the grade from the GPA calculation but then you lose out on optional points as well. It’s best to just stick with one option so that you don’t end up losing 4 optional points altogether.

Yes! Enter the A grade on your application and not your first grade or else that will be the one they consider (which will deem you as ineligible for the program). Do not click omit for your physiology grade however, if you checked the omit box for any other grades you received that you didn’t want considered in the GPA calculation, then you don’t qualify for the no omit points. Other than that, it sounds quite about right. If it gives you any assurance, your points with or without the omit optional points give you an extremely good chance of getting in. My friends in the nursing program told me anything above 69 is pretty safe!

Omitting a grade is simply discluding a grade out of the GPA calculation which is often used when you get a B or C in a class. This is called your adjusted nursing GPA and is what is looked at in terms of determining points for the GPA category. Please note that if a tiebreaker is needed for determining position, unadjusted GPA and amount of repeats is what they look at (along with TEAS score and military service).

Hi! I believe you just enter your repeat grade. They’ll see it on your transcript during verification that you repeated it is what I’m guessing. For your points, you do not qualify for the no repeats points since you retook physiology after getting a letter grade but if you did not check any of the omit boxes on the right hand column when completing your application, then you do qualify for the no omits optional points. Hi! This is just a university acceptance. The deadline to submit an application to the nursing program hasn’t even hit yet so it wouldn’t make sense that they have released admissions already. According to my very good friend and fellow forum poster Ekat (also the one who started this forum!) they do tell you the stats of this application round soon after the application window has closed. They will tell you how many people have applied and what the 80th spot has in terms of points before verification and this could definitely be used to gauge where you are in terms of getting in.
