Hi everyone,
My name is Daniel and I just wanted to create this thread so everyone applying to Sac State can share their scores and post any questions they may have.
Ill start!
Pre +Co requisite GPA: 3.92
TEAS Score: 88.0%
Optional Criteria: 6
Overall app score: 78
I am planning to retake the TEAS exam in order to, hopefully, get a higher score!
I just took the TEAS today and am so stoked with how I did I thought I'd post it on here. I spent the past month prepping for it, and I'm glad I bought the book and practice tests because they ended up helping out a lot. I feel pretty confident now I'll be able to get into Sac State this Fall :) I hate all the waiting though...lolGPA: 4.0
TEAS: 94.7%
Optional Criteria: 3
Total Score: 93
Congratulations! You have amazing score.
I have been "stalking" this thread for a while. I am taking the TEAS in Sac state on 27th. I have been studying 6 to 7 hours a day, with the TEAS books, MCGraw, and my notes from past classes, this winter break. Did you take the TEAS in Sac campus? Was there like no break at all? I read there would be no scheduled break, does that mean I cannot leave my seat for 4 hours......?

I live in southern California right now, so I took it at the Cal State San Marcos campus. I want to go to Sac State though since their program is quicker.
As far as the exam went, they would let just 1 person at a time go out to use the restroom. That seemed a bit harsh but I guess they want to keep it locked down. The time periods in between each of the 4 sections of the exam are not timed, so we could take as much time as we wanted to stretch or rest. I took advantage of each of those little breaks and I think it helped.
Anyway, good luck to you for the 27th. 6 to 7 hours a day is way more than I was studying each day the past month (although the last couple days I did cram a bit more). I bet you'll do well with all that preparation :)

thank you so much for the info... I am a caffeine addict. I drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee in the morning , and I may need to use the bathroom during the exam. not sure if i can hold it for 4 hours .LOL
If someone has taken TEAS on Sac campus, i would like to know if they allow breaks between sections. thanks :)

I took the TEAS at Sac State. I remember the test admins doing something similar to what Ryno said, only letting one person out at a time. As for breaks between sections, you have 4 hours to complete the TEAS, but you take it at your own pace. If you finish the first section before the person seated next to you, you can move onto the second section, or leave the room for a couple of minutes to stretch.
Great score, Ryno.
Hello all,
I am a graduate from SacState's nursing program and I spent a few years helping with pre-nursing advising. I have been commenting on SacState posts for previous semesters in order to offer help with answering questions where I can. If any of you have questions I will do my best to help you in any way I can.
Good luck to you all!

Hi Vintage, thanks for helping and sharing info. I did have one quick question I was hoping you might be able to answer. The timeline Sac State posts on their nursing website says the 'Selected/Alternate/Ineligible admission decisions' will be emailed out tentatively at the end of April. Based on past experience, is that pretty accurate, or might they come sooner/later? Also, do they all get sent out at the same time, or do the people higher on the list get them first and those people lower on the list get them a bit later?
Thanks again for making yourself available. I know it probably won't help much knowing, but at least then I can at least try to focus on other things in the mean time and pretend I'm not obsessing about getting into nursing school
Ryno,
The timeline is relatively accurate. There is only a small group of people processing all of the applications and cross checking information. I have never seen the emails come after a stated timeframe; though they have come in the evening on the last day. With that said, I wouldn't expect them until the last week of April. Last fall's class found out on the 30th around 5pm I think. They are all mailed at the same time so you will know whether you are an alternate or admitted at the same time.
LOL… You are right about knowing not helping. And no one believes your attempts to pretend about freaking out about getting in. I remember checking my email multiple times a day weeks before they were due to come out. I even hand delivered my application because I didn't trust the mail. Haha!:)
Hi! I am applying to Sac State for the fall semester. Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.72
TEAS: Taking at Sac State on January 27th
Optional Criteria: 6
Total Score: I'll update after the TEAS
Obviously, I absolutely HAVE to get a great score on the TEAS to be competitive. We'll see how it goes. Good luck to you all!
