Sac State 2016

Published

Hey all! I know it is a little early, but I am just finishing up my application for Sac State for fall 2016! Would love to meet some fellow applicants!

Hi everyone! My name is Jason, and I applied for the fall 2016 term.

My GPA is 3.9318 (I got a B in English 300 a long time ago)

My TEAS score is 92

I don't get any points from optional criteria, so I applied with 81 points. If I don't get in, then I will retake ENGWR 300 to get an additional 4 points. I sure hope I get in! I guess we've gotta wait another month to find out. I can't rest easy until I know. Good luck everyone!

Hi all!

Wow you guys have really good point totals. :) I am at 77 points so will most likely be an alternate but hope I get in. I have a 4.0 and got an 87 on the teas bit only have 3 points for Healthcare experience in the optional criteria. This program seems to get more and more competitive every year. I wish you all the best of luck! Anyone else as nervous as me...waiting this next month is going to be torture.

It's no secret that the majority of the nursing schools in the region are gradually accepting more competitive applicants now more than ever. Based on the application pool history CSU Sac's SON provided, I would imagine the cutoff score will be higher than the previous fall. However, I was surprised to see it lowered for the recent spring cohort. It's possibly and hopefully a sign of the cutoff score stabilizing.

Check your emails everyone. They released the update. Accounting for the trend of number of declined applicants during the fall term, it looks as if the cutoff score will be 78 or 79. So if everyone was OCD while checking their application ensuring there were no errors, the majority here should all be looking for some good news in a couple of weeks.

"We received over 440 applications for 80 seats. Based on unverified student-reported data, the applicant ranked number 80 has 81 points—the applicant ranked 160 has 73 points. We anticipate the final cut-score will be lower when we have completed the evaluation and Intent-to-Enroll process, but we regret it may be higher than previous fall terms"

I have 81 points, so fingers crossed!

Hello!

I'm actually nearing the end of my first semester in the program at Sac State. First off, congratulations if you made the point cutoff already! If you didn't, I would *try* not to worry too much just yet because I think like 20 people from my current cohort got in off the waitlist :). If you're deciding between more than one program (like I was) I highly recommend this one! Of course I'm a little biased.

Anyways, I remember having a trillion questions when applying and when I first got accepted so I just wanted to let you all know that I'm more than happy to answer if you have any! I was also a transfer student from out of the area so I can potentially help with things related to that too. Just keep in mind I'll be taking finals in the next few weeks so my responses might not be super speedy (unless I'm procrastinating).

I don't check this site as obsessively as I did when applying (lol) so if you need anything my e-mail is m s j m i c h e l l e @ y a h o o . c o m (without all the spaces of course).

Thanks Michelle! Say hi to Chioma for me! My name is Jason btw

Does anyone know the bare minimum grade for In Progress classes? Is it 70% C- or 75% C?

Is ANYONE else DYING!! I have 85 points, but until I get that email, I can't say FOR SURE that I'm in!! Good luck everyone!! Happy waiting!

Relax Dez, I think you're in. The preliminary cutoff is 81, and that number is likely to be a little lower after intent to enrolls. I have 81 points, so I feel your pain of just wanting to know. Every time I get an email I'm hoping it's an acceptance letter. They said they'd let us know in late April, and there aren't many days left in late April. Hopefully we will be cohorts!

Hello everyone!

Seeing everyone's scores is quite intimidating, since I get SO anxious with tests and didn't do as well as I had hoped on the TEAS :dead:

I'm most likely going to be an alternate at 77 points :) Fingers crossed though as Sac is my number 1.

Results are in! Check your emails! :)
