Published

Has anyone been accepted to SAC Nursing Program (Fall2011) already? If so, post so we can wait together. So nervous.. I already applied and I am waiting to see If I have been accepted...I did look up threads about SAC and I have read its pros and cons..Good luck to everyone.

Was anyone there on Wed morning and shocked at the chaos? ..we got there at 6:30 am and there was already a line.

I got in morning classes (startin flex1) ...as wanted:)...so no complaints here.

...was suprised though, to get there at 7:45...and see that folks were already in there ON the computers and registering:eek:...thought they said 8?

..wow, yall got there at 6:30...lol, what time did they start lettin' folks in?

Thanks for the tip on where to get some scrubs.

I will be taking morning classes, but I will be going to FlexII afterall...:crying2:

..that's not exactly what you were hopin' for....but just think of all the folks just starting their prereq's...that would :redbeathe to be there!

..see yall around...sportin' black n'blue scrubs:up:

I also arrived early on Thursday at 7a for FlexII and there were a few people ahead of me...it was a bit crazy..By 7:30 they allowed everyone to go in the computer room and register..

@BIOBR8kn, does that mean you registered a total of 5 classes for the Fall? I also registered an extra class..Now Im wondering if I should of have chosen an easier class..YIKES! Thank you for your info on where to get our uniforms.:)

@IDOPATHIC..Yes, your are right..Many other pre nursing students

would love to be in Nursing School period!! It just breaks my heart because I know I was one of the first ones who turned in my packet, and then I was told in the office that My packet was one of the best turned in. I worked so hard to get everything in time and perfect.. Its okay, though..I am really glad and excited to be in School period..Still waiting on that "letter" I hope to hear something soon..It was the "incident" I had told you..Bummer!! Thank you tho for your advice. :) Have a great day everyone!!

I also registered an extra class..Now Im wondering if I should of have chosen an easier class..YIKES

...you registered for an extra class to be full time status for fin aid...yes? (like many of us have)

..what class? extra class all semester long?...or flex 1, cause then you'd get the credit hrs for the semester without having to be taking during your flex2 nursing classes.

Idiopathic, I am taking Nutrition for the entire semester..all 16wks..I have not heard anything yet from the financial aid nor student loan..I did apply for both..I had to write a reinstatement letter for exceeding college hours..I tell ya, I am waiting for all kinds of things..lol..Should I have not signed up for Nutrition the entire semester?

I took that as part of a double degree. but it was NOT a class I would take with my first semester in the nursing program. Take a psych or sociology class or even a drama class online. I would have not done well if that was added to my load. :)

Thank you nrsingstudnt...:uhoh3: I have heard the same from other students.. I will have to go and search for another class..I dont need to add to my load..YIKES! Again, thank you..

I gotten full financial aid just by nursing classes alone. Never had to take extra courses. The amount of hrs you have to put in clinicals automatically considered full time. You guys might wanna recheck with financial aid. Magic words are # of hrs required for clinicals each week.

doink. Just FYI....

Are you at sac? the nursing course loads are considered "full time" per the nursing dept however, for financial aid purposes you must have 12 semester hours. Flex 1 has 3 for theory and 2 for clinical Flex 2 has 3 for theory and 2 for clinical thus total for semester is 10 hrs.

FA considers this 3/4 time and therefore you will not get "full FA". Add a 2 or 3 semester hour class and you are good to go!

The KEY for FA is total semester hours..... Not clinical hours.... 12 is full time status. 6 is half time anything more then 6 but less then 12 is 3/4 time.

Good luck! You will need a lot of time to read and re-read! Do your nursing labs!!!!

Was at sac. Graduated in fall 2010. Well, I can tell you I was getting full financial aid during the 2 yrs I was there. Pell and state grants with occasional small nursing scholarships on the side on 10 hr per semester. I explained it to the financial office that i have long clinical hrs so they listed me as full time. I don't know... maybe I fell through the cracks

WOW! sounds like you did.. they are diligent about the hours now... good for you:)

Hi Doink, for Flex I are you taking a total of 4 classes for the semester?

Hello folks...new to allnurses...anyone on here starting SAC during Flex II?
