Hey everyone!  I thought it would be a great idea to create this thread for anyone applying to the (Spring 2023) ABSN second degree program at RUTGERS Newark.

I'm researching to see if this program is good

hey I'm looking into applying but trying to see if it's even worth the application! it seems pretty competitive and my pre reqs range from A to B-

If your qualified, I don't see why you shouldn't apply. I do agree. From what I read majority of the students accepted are all averaging 3.6 or higher for GPA stats. The admission counselor encourages students to apply to have variety of students to choose from.

Hey, I know that they encourage you to apply if you still have 2 classes in progress. Just make sure that you have the main science courses when you apply.  I don't know how soon they respond with a decision. Call admin and they should be able to give you a answer.

They extended the deadline to November 15 and they don’t give decisions until 4-6 weeks after deadline unfortunately ? I’m kind of disappointed because if I did get accepted that’s not really enough time to give my job notice of my leave and train a new person to take over my position. Oh well, I’ll cross that bridge when/if I get there LOL. Fingers crossed, good luck to you!
I would apply if you have a course or 2 in progress but try to have your sciences completed when applying!

Thanks for the info. Do you plan to work part time if at all if you get accepted? Good luck to you!

I just reached out on their chat and it said if you applied before October 1 then you hear 4-6 weeks from October 1. If you applied after that, then it’s 4-6 weeks after November 15th. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the updated information! Good to know, that makes me feel better. I applied within the first few days of the app being open.
