Hey everyone!  I thought it would be a great idea to create this thread for anyone applying to the (Spring 2023) ABSN second degree program at RUTGERS Newark.

My application says it’s under review! I’ll update you guys once I get a decision. Personally, I think my pre nursing pre reqs are good. My first degree stats aren’t the best, I struggled a lot in my undergrad. So I submitted a personal statement along with my professional resume! In my personal statement I just focused on how I strengthened my weaknesses & improved my academic performance in my post degree pre nursing classes!

Micro: B 

Chem 2: B

Lifespan: A

Psych: A

Nutrition: A

Stats: A

Sociology: A

 

Professional background: I work as a research scientist in neuroscience focused on sensory & cognitive studies.

Hi everyone! I heard back that I have been accepted into the program. I am a re-enrollment applicant and they emailed me. Has anyone else gotten an update?

I applied on 09/15 and still waiting.

I think I submitted on September 18th, but when I dropped off my official transcripts and talked to the admissions person he said that they don’t start reviewing anything until after October 1st. Based on past threads on here in previous semesters it seems like they send out some re-enrollment decisions first. However, I’ve also seen re-enrollment students hear they’ve gotten in much later.

Congrats that’s exciting! I’m still waiting. I’m not a re enrolling applicant though.

I just got an acceptance email 2 nights ago, I submitted my application on September 19. anyone started the castlebranch stuff yet?

Congrats! Yup- did all the castlebranch stuff. I had a difficult time with getting the drug test done- make sure you look online at scheduling an appointment with labcorp and specify that you need a location for “employment drug testing.” I would highly suggest an appointment- I went to one place where it said walk-ins and got there at 2:10 and they said they were done with drug tests for the day even though they were open till 3. Then another place I stopped by said they didn’t do employment drug testing. And there was NO parking at the one in Newark. I ended up going to Montclair and was finally able to get it done.
