Hey everyone!  I thought it would be a great idea to create this thread for anyone applying to the (Spring 2023) ABSN second degree program at RUTGERS Newark.

After 5 weeks of my application being under review I did not get in :( wish everyone the best of luck!

It came through last night around 9 PM but I didn’t see it until this morning? I’m going to apply for the Summer session too & another schools program! My time will come eventually??

Absolutely ?

Nope! I’ve actually applied 2 other times. I just moved to New Jersey from Texas last Winter & have applied for Spring 2022, Summer 2022, & now Spring 2023.

Have you considered applying to the school of Arts and sciences as a part time student and then taking a class or two so you can apply as a re enrollment student? I did that and took medical anthropology and Spanish and incorporated that info into my personal statement.

I kind of thought about it but was not sure what the logistics of it were! I work full time (9-5 M-F) so I wasn’t sure if it was an option for me. Do they offer online classes? That’s a good idea though, I’ll look more into this. Thank you for the recommendation!

They do! They have some online asynchronous classes

I think the deadline has passed for Spring admission but I would reach out to the admissions office and see if they can help!

Specializes in none.

Hi all im so  happy I found this chat (hopefully it puts some of my anxiety at ease). I recently got accepted to the program and was wondering if anyone else who got excepted received any further instructions.

I know we have orientation, drug screenings, background checks, scrub fittings etc to compete before classes start. So if anyone knows where I can find more info lmk:)

Hi there! I got an email about a week after acceptance with info for orientation signup and clinical clearance guidelines. I would say to reach out if you don’t hear anything by the end of next week. You’ll have to get a physical/proof of vaccination stuff so maybe call and get an appointment set for that since that can take time to schedule. Once you get the email there’s a packet it will direct you to but I’m sure if you reach out to admissions they can get it to you!
