Rutgers ABSN Summer 2021

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a post for students who applied to Rutgers summer2021 ABSN program. I am anxiously awaiting a response. I applied in September but had all my documents in around December. I saw in previous post that people submitted their basic life support certificate but I didn't see an option for that. 

 I graduated with a bachelors in cell and molecular biology recently, I volunteered as an EMT in the past and did research.

my stats are 3.5 GPA

A&P1: A

A&P2: A

Micro: A 

Statistics: A

Chem2: B+

Nutrition: A-

lifespan: A

I also took biochem and got a C

I would love to hear about you guys (past and future student). also does anyone know how FAFSA would work for this program since it starts in the Summer, or how do you guys plan to pay?

@futur3nurs3 I submitted my application about mid sept and my last document in Jan.

Hey guys!

I just checked the portal today and saw that I was accepted! I'll be sharing my stats for whoever wants them.

Undergrad GPA: 3.5

A&P I: B

A&P II: A-

Micro: B

Statistics: A

Chem II: B

Nutrition: A-

Lifespan: A

Prereq GPA: 3.4* (I believe? Not sure.)

I also submitted my application on January 5th.

@ana-leeteuk Congratulations!!  That's awesome!  

Sounds like you and JayM submitted pretty early, I only think my final documents were received last week so really hoping they're just still processing it ?.

Some of my documents were received mid-way through January if that's any help.

They accept all the way into March! You'll be fine ?

I wrote mine about basically flunking my first year of college (my GPA was a 2.5) and how I adapted and improved my studying skills and searched for help instead of giving up. I spoke a bit about perseverance and determination, which allowed me to get mostly As the rest of my college career. 

Rutgers likes to see improvement so you can definitely highlight that in your personal statement. Hope that helps!

Nope. I did reach out to admissions to get an understanding on when decisions come out and they said decisions will be out by mid-march. I guess they must do rolling admissions with acceptance on the top candidates first and then see if the seats are filled.
