Rutgers ABSN Summer 2021

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a post for students who applied to Rutgers summer2021 ABSN program. I am anxiously awaiting a response. I applied in September but had all my documents in around December. I saw in previous post that people submitted their basic life support certificate but I didn't see an option for that. 

 I graduated with a bachelors in cell and molecular biology recently, I volunteered as an EMT in the past and did research.

my stats are 3.5 GPA

A&P1: A

A&P2: A

Micro: A 

Statistics: A

Chem2: B+

Nutrition: A-

lifespan: A

I also took biochem and got a C

I would love to hear about you guys (past and future student). also does anyone know how FAFSA would work for this program since it starts in the Summer, or how do you guys plan to pay?

I uploaded the BLS cert in the portal, but it doesn't show up as "received" on my status screen.  I'm not sure that it ever does, maybe it's just added to the file.

Does it show up at all? Or did you just submit it and then the link disappeared? The woman told me it’s uploaded into my file, but I’m hesitant to believe that’s true since I can’t see it :/.

Nope, doesn't show up at all!  But I definitely uploaded it so just hoping that it's there...

That’s so strange. They would probably get a lot less emails if they just had a “document received” option to calm applicants nerves.

I just emailed mine, I never saw the option of the portal. mine is going to expire this year, I will obviously redo it but I hope that's not going to be an issue.

I don’t this it’ll be an issue at all. I’m fairly certain that in previous posts people applied before they got their certification.

@Amber Helou yes same, I did see that as well but Its nerve wracking since others had the option to submit it.

Does anyone know if they are going to wait until the extended deadline to send out application decisions?

No idea. I can’t remember which program it was, but I know this past fall one school (I think MSU) extended their application deadline, which then pushed the decisions. I guess it depends more on if Rutgers does rolling decisions. If not, we’ll probably have to wait until after the extended deadline is reached.

Guys go check your status! I checked mine this morning and I was accepted!

@JayM Wow, that's amazing news, congratulations!  You must be so relieved.  So happy to hear this.  Also good to know that it sounds like they are doing rolling admissions.  No news here yet but keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!
