I wanted to create a post for students who applied to Rutgers summer2021 ABSN program. I am anxiously awaiting a response. I applied in September but had all my documents in around December. I saw in previous post that people submitted their basic life support certificate but I didn't see an option for that.
I graduated with a bachelors in cell and molecular biology recently, I volunteered as an EMT in the past and did research.
my stats are 3.5 GPA
A&P1: A

Micro: A
Statistics: A
Chem2: B+
Nutrition: A-
lifespan: A
I also took biochem and got a C
I would love to hear about you guys (past and future student). also does anyone know how FAFSA would work for this program since it starts in the Summer, or how do you guys plan to pay?
Hi! Yes, there was definitely more info once deposit was submitted. There are a series of orientations in mid- to late-May, but what I can gather actual classes start the week of 5/31. Unclear how many of these will be virtual vs. in-person. There are a bunch of clinical clearance requirements that need to be completed before then (uniform order, immunizations, background checks, etc.), which can be a little time-consuming to complete, though... Good luck with your decision!

No worries! It was a little buried so I didn't see it right away. There was an email that was sent out about Orientation, there's a link in there a few paragraphs down to the orientation homepage, and they have instructions there about where to order uniforms. Lmk if you can't find it and I can email you the link.
@nursinggal2021 there was no further info when you pay. when you actitvate your netid the information is in my dashboard. there is a checklist called "my enrollment required" if click on "complete learning engagement advisement and planning" you will see all the info for uniforms and rsvping for orientation. there is also info about immunization and clinical clearance.
@Whit80 there is a fb group but I'm not sure if its active I requested to join a while ago and still didn't get a response, its called "Rutgers Newark ABSN class of 2022"
@emilysm@KimP21 I also did re-enrolled application as I am currently still at Rutgers for my bachelors. I have not heard anything back from them. Were you both able to submit personal statement, letter of recommendations? I kept asking the admissions and they wouldn't allow me to. All I sent was the application and they told me that I didn't need anything else aside from the CPR certification which could be done after we get in.

So I asked them about that a while ago and they don't require a personal statement or letter of recommendation. Well, I know for sure we didn't need letters of recommendations. I remember in the application there was a short response section of why I wanted to go there but I didn't write much. I'm hoping that wasn't the personal statement. But it wasn't indicated as such, so I didn't treat it that way.
All I need is the CPR certification too. I'm going to complete it, if I get the acceptance.
@Vanessa Espin Since I was a reenrollment applicant, I didn't have to submit a personal statement or send in letter of recommendation. As for the CPR cert, I emailed it to them because they said I needed to send it before the application deadline.
