Hello! Thought I'd start a thread as I haven't found one. Has anyone applied for Rutgers ABSN summer 2020 start?

Hi! I didn’t apply as I couldn’t find anywhere online that I could take the organic biochemistry. Does anyone know of a website? I took the rest of my prerequisites (a&p I & II and microbiology) through the University of Phoenix.
@Chelly2628 can't speak on behalf of biochem online. But the New Brunswick campus lists a class called "chemistry of life" on their prerequisite PDF- might be worth looking into in the even that you can find something comparable to that.

Hello!
Thank you for starting a thread for the program! I submitted my application on 1/21, but I don't expect to hear back for quite some time. The required documents on the status page (Transcripts & App Fee) were all marked completed by 1/23. Anyone seeing different required documents? Did anyone submit their CPR certification? An email exchange with admissions was unclear about whether or not it was a "required" document due ASAP. I sent it via mail just to be safe. The NB campus would be ideal for me compared to Newark, but I'll take what I can get at this point lol
Best of luck to everyone!
@BigCheese I asked them about the CPR cert, and they said that isn't needed until after you've been accepted.
A few people on this thread heard from NB already- so I'm anxiously waiting! Good luck!
@Tsal Thank you! I was actually JUST reading that on another Rutgers thread... good timing!
I'm pretty shocked that some have heard back so quickly. We're both anxiously waiting lol I've been checking my applications for a few schools daily. I'm not feeling too great about being accepted based on the stats I've seen, but all I can do is wait and see!
@BigCheese There's nothing like the waiting game and thinking about "stats" to make you feel greatttt LOL Where all did you apply? RU, Saint Peters and NJCU for me. I'm almost sure I won't get into Rutgers because of the chemistry requirement... I took something equiv. to "chemistry of life" that NB lists on their prerequisite PDF. Who knows!
@Tsal Oh yeah the waiting game is wonderful lol My cumulative GPA between 2 schools is sadly only a 3.19 (Not meeting the requirement sooooo...) since I was pretty careless with no direction at the beginning of college. I applied to Rutgers (NB & Newark), NJCU (Wall), Jefferson FACT 2-Year(Center City), and Seton Hall (@ Georgian Court). My prerequisite GPAs are 3.62, 3.88, 3.7, and 3.64, respectively. There has most definitely been an upward trend in my grades, so I'm really hoping that along with personal statements help me out a bit.
I'm thinking of applying to Stockton as well since I just graduated with a BS in Health Sciences in May. I DEFINITELY don't meet their requirements, but I spoke with a newly accepted ABSN student a few months back that didn't meet their requirements. We'll see what happens.
That stinks that they wouldn't give you a straight up answer regarding the chem class. I know that it's far easier said than done, but try to stay positive! I'm not the religious type, but the universe works in funny ways - so everything may happen for a reason!
@BigCheesemany schools require 3.0 and you had an upward trend! I think you’ll be just fine! I was accepted into saint peters ABSN so I’m thrilled and relieved about that. But, I have a son and wouldn’t mind a May start date. I want to get going bc being out of work for 16mo is stressful enough!
@Tsal Woohoo!!! That's amazing, a big congratulations on your acceptance!!
I'm sure having a child will make the process tough, but you're gonna kill it no matter what! Do you think that you're going to accept that offer, or wait to see what the other programs say?
@BigCheeseThank you! I actually believe I’d be super happy at saint peters. I visited and met the director. She was lovely, small cohort. Not far from me! I am only waiting it out because I’d love to start before September. But either way, it’ll all work out as it should!
@Tsal You're very welcome! A relatively close distance paired with a small, quality program seems like a great deal. I'm not in your position, but if you truly think you'd be happy there, I'd say go for it! No matter what you decide to do, give yourself a high-five! You did it! *Confetti falls from the sky*
