Hi Guys, I didn't see a thread for the Rutgers ABSN Summer 2019 so I figured I would start one.
Has anyone applied to the program?

Oh and also, what’s your advise on traveling/parking since the classes are downtown?

Scheduling for my first semester is lectures Thurs + Fri 8-2pm and depending on which group you're placed in (you have no say in this process), your 6.5 hr. clinical and 2 hr lab can be any non-lecture day Mon-Sat (i.e. Saturday clinical and Tuesday lab). Also, they say it's a 14 month program, but it's more like 16 months because we follow the Rutgers Academic Calendar so we get Spring and Winter breaks and a small summer break (i.e. I started Jan 2019 and I graduate May 2020). Lmk if you have more questions about the program! I'm procrastinating studying lmao

Hi! I would also love to know how you are handling classes and what you think of them and any other info you could provide. Thanks!

Hello!
I received an acceptance email yesterday to NB. I called the admissions office since I was wait listed for Newark and they said final decisions should be made by the end of the week, so keep your hopes up if you have not heard back yet!

What were your stats?
I have a B.S. in biology with 3.1 cummulative gpa (my first two years of college were a struggle but my last two years of college I got mostly A's and a few B's)
2.5 years of patient care experience at two top hospitals in my area as a Patient Care Associate
CPR certified & trained in phlebotomy/EKG
Anatomy and Physiology I (with Lab): A ( got a D+ the first time around and retook)
Anatomy and Physiology II (with Lab): A
Developmental Psychology: A
Nutrition: A
Statistics: A-
Biochemistry: B+
Microbiology: B-
I think my personal statement and patient experience is really what made me stand out because my GPA isn't the greatest.
*I was accepted to Newark and waitlisted for New Brunswick campus.
I'm wondering when we will receive our financial aid packages. I called the other day and they said sometime in March.
I'm debating living on campus at least for the summer semester while I see if I can handle commuting by car from New York every day with the intensity of the program.

One of my fellow classmates lives in NY and commutes. Apparently it's not bad, about a 45 min drive because you're going in the opposite direction of usual traffic. When everyone's trying to get to work in NY, she's trying to get to class in Jersey. And when everyone's trying to get home to Jersey, she's trying to get home to NY. But class also ends at 2pm so that helps too.
