Rutgers ABSN Spring 2021

Hey! I figured I'd start a thread as I haven't found one for this upcoming semester. Has anyone applied for Rutgers ABSN Spring 2021 start?

I have applied and am currently just waiting on a response. I know I have spoken to someone at the school and they have mentioned that some people have already gotten their decisions.

Really? Because whenever I asked about decision notifications the person would get so cryptic about it. All of my application items were submitted by August 31st. Then a couple days before the documents deadline on October 15th I figured let me just ask and see if all my documents are in. Good thing I asked because my Proof of Enrollment for the Life Span Psych I’m taking wasn’t there! I sent it via the document submission page back when I submitted my application. Somehow they didn’t receive it, so I emailed it to the SON email and now they have it. This probably pushed my application back. Very frustrating since the application portal page says that they notify us of any missing documents.

I feel the exact same way.. or maybe they have gotten our good applications but aren't getting enough to fill the 100 or so ever seats they need to fill.

I doubt they would push it back for that reason, I hate to say it but at least we will all know where we stand before thanksgiving.

I just chatted with an admissions person on the RU-Nursing website. Guess what? The BLS cert is needed at time of application.  It’s considered part of supplementary materials to the application.

See this is the type of stuff that sets people up for failure. They don’t initially say so and not everyone is on the same page in the office.

For those that submitted the BLS, do you see the confirmation on the application status webpage? Or did you just confirm they have it via call/chat?

@Ry_ari isn’t it crazy? So I just submitted mine. I should’ve submitted it as soon as I got it. Oh well. And I asked if this will set my app back in being reviewed and the person said no. I also asked if we would be notified of any missing documents and they said yes. But, why wasn’t I notified of the BLS cert? ? 

Still trying to stay positive!!

@Louel11 the person confirmed it for me. Same w my proof of enrollment for the pre-req I’m taking right now. My portal doesn’t say anything except my $70 fee and transcripts.

@Louel11 There's no confirmation of receipt that popped up for me anywhere. And they told me something entirely different @SBRNS so who knows. I guess everyone should just email it in to be safe if they haven't.

Thanks all! I submitted my BLS on October 2nd, but haven't seen any update to my application status page. I last spoke to someone via email on the 8th, all they said was they'll reach out if they need additional info.

I never had a confirmation receipt for my BLS either. But I did the chat the other day to confirm they had all of my required documents. It’s a shame they don’t outline the required documents and then display it better on the status screen. So much more unnecessary stress on top of waiting to hear if we’ve been admitted.

Better to be safe!! Technically those of you who haven’t gotten their BLS, still have until November 1st to earn it and submit it. 
 

I did receive email confirmations for my BLS and proof of enrollment documents since I emailed them to the SON Admissions email address. But nothing on the application portal itself.

When I submitted my BLS I got an email the next day saying "received and added to your file".

Also when you get accepted you have to pay a $150 deposit to save your seat and some admissions counselor emailed me saying I had until Oct 29th, 2020 to complete that. 

But that was before the new extension so if my guess is correct the first week of November everyone should start getting updates on their apps and have until the end of November to make that deposit.

how long after submitting your BLS did you get your acceptance??
