Rush GEM Fall 2021

Hello! I haven't seen a thread for Rush yet, fall 21 entry to the generalist entry masters program. I applied earlier this fall and received an interview invite a week or two later. Looking to connect with others!

I also got the same response from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). Unfortunately, a lot of the scholarship links aren't even valid anymore, assuming they do not exist anymore due to covid or loss of funding. Also, some of the scholarships have ended in the years 2016, 2017, etc...

(MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) also stated that we should be getting the Rush log in information in order to view our financial aid package prior to the decision deadline (3/19). Just wanted to see if anyone has gotten an email containing this information yet, since I haven't gotten anything!

Also, I really appreciate all the information given in this thread! It seems that I miscalculated the tuitions, and UIC is in fact more expensive at around $88K when compared to Rush's ~$76k.

@remis58 are you sure that we will be able to view our financial aid packet prior to the decision deadline? I just looked at my acceptance packet from Rush and it says "4 Weeks from E-Acceptance Packet/Email....Online access to Rush University Portal, which includes personal financial aid and bill payment information".

If that is the case, then we will not be getting our financial aid info until 2 weeks after the deadline to accept Rush's invitation.

I mean, when I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) regarding this topic, she said that we “should” be able to view out financial aid prior to the deadline.... she didn’t give a guarantee, so I can’t say for sure that we will be able to.

Yes; I also spoke to (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), and she said that we should receive it prior to the deadline, and in the case that we do not, to email her as soon as possible. 

I am also very unsure what to do. The program is so expensive, and this will be my first time working through financial aid. Good thing on my end, is that the MSN works towards my career goals - love that RUSH has specialty programs for nurses who want to advance their education.

You'll need to download the word doc. open it, set up your portal log in by downloading Microsoft and logging into that. It took me a while to get everything completed to see my financial aid package.

Which word Document?

There's a link to the website in the email. Maybe I had to do more steps because I didn't have Microsoft. The doc included Username, Email, Temporary Password, and Student ID. It was needed to set up sign in to the portal

Mine didn't go to a Microsoft site. It went straight to the Rush University site. I received all those information but not in a doc. ?
