RPN Jan '12 - Mohawk

Published

Just wondering if anyone has received their acceptance offers for the RPN Jan '12 start. I am going crazy checking the mocomotion website multiple times a day! I spoke with admissions and she was hoping to have them up by last Friday

Ooooh, I'm afraid to celebrate! lol

I am operating on the assumption that I'm not in, until I see that offer on OCAS! Maybe I will cry somewhat less that way...? ;)

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm going to be totally useless today. It's also my 10th wedding anniversary (YIKES!) :D and I have to be mentally present for that! Maybe I should open the anniversary champagne and start early....take my mind off of this! LOL! *wine

Happy anniversary!

I just checked OCAS and nothing has shown up yet. Let me know if you see anything show up!

Congrats to everyone who got an acceptance from Mohawk!

Sadly, mine still says, "no decision"

I really don't understand why it's harder to get in for the PN program than the Nursing program.

Way to go!!! Congrats!

Awesome guys...I remember how excited, nervous and full of questions I was when I got my acceptance. And now, during my first clinical rotation, I am still excited, nervous and full of questions! Remember don't give up! Ask ALOT of Good questions - good nurses always ask "Why?" And take these next few months to get everything organized - get your medical clearances, make your child care arrangements, organize a schedule with time for school, study, family (let me know if you figure that one out - I'm still struggling ;)] It's so much work and new information but alot of fun too!

Hi @takeabreath, thanks! Personally, I would love any advice you have to offer, having it so fresh in your mind! I know I have tons of questions, but I'm trying to be patient and wait for the information to start trickling in from the school. I assume I will receive an information package by mail?

Do you remember what things you did to get yourself prepared, like taking the CPR, getting vaccinations, shopping for supplies, etc?

Really excited, and the other prevailing emotion so far is low-grade terror. ;)

You do need to take your CPR cert. for Health Care Providers - offered through the college, heart and stroke foundation and red cross. You also need to take a mask fit course also offered through CE at college, heart/stroke and red cross. Get your immunization record and your hep b vac. if you are not immune. Your tb skin test is covered in your tuition, but the hep b is not. Start saving up $ for text books as they are quite costly and you need several. Any specific ? just ask...

Starfish - Did you receive this morning an email from the office of the registrar?

If you did receive the email did it state the following:

"Your offer is conditional upon providing proof on or before the first day of class, of your final grades for required courses/programs, or any outstanding documents."

Let me know

Hi- I got that email from Mohawk this morning, yes. Don't worry- I know they have all my grades and transcripts, so I think it's just a form letter. Some people are probably still completing pre-reqs. Also- did you find the link on the email they sent was broken? It works if you just copy and paste the address into your browser, rather than clicking the link. Nothing super exciting in there, though! :)

Have you accepted on OCAS yet? I did on Friday... can't wait for confirmation and hopefully some kind of information package!

It's funny your reply on my blackberry is showing a different response than on my pc..

So yours said that too then. I am glad it is just a standard letter.. I emailed her and she said every offer is conditional based on submitting final grades and she said I was fine since everything was in..
