Hi All! I have applied to the full time Bridging program at Centennial college for fall 2020. I was then told by admissions that the full time bridging has been cancelled (most likely due to the covid situation and other issues). I do have an offer for the Bridging Flex program, but I am not sure if I should accept the offer as I have read that the program does not go through the Summer and it is 3 semesters. If I accept I would not be able to start University the coming fall - 2021 at Ryerson delaying going to university another year. Also another issue is that once you start bridging as a flex student I have read that you can only get into the part time post diploma program at Ryerson, therefore I am unsure what to do at this point.
Any suggestions?

I have also receive the offers of Flex and online, but I have not received any emails about moving the last semester of Flex to Summer in 2021. Do you mind showing me the email. Thanks a lot!
Were you originally offered/accepted into the fulltime program for Sept 2020? The 3 consecutive semesters running through Summer may be conditional to only those who were offered the fulltime program.
You would have received an email from Centennial informing you of the cancellation and in the same email they stated that they are offering an alternative to those affected by this cancellation.
If you only applied to the regular flex or hybrid program, this option may not be offered to you.

I have also applied full time for sept 2020, but they did not give me the offer for the full time program.
My friend got accepted for sept 2020 full-time first, the alternative she got is flexible starting from Jan, which is weird.

It could be that the sept 2020 alternate intake is now at capacity and the school moved onto offering Jan intakes as other alternatives. I don't know what criteria they used to divide up the students though.

This my situation, I applied to the full-time program for Sept 2020 and was offered the alternate for Jan 2021, but I know other people who applied for the same program as myself but was offered the flex this Sept 2020 so its unfair

I understand. Granted, the covid situation is very unprecedented, the way the college is handling this situation isn't right at all. I really wonder how the school chose who to offer the Fall 2020 alternative program vs who to offer the Winter 2021 program.
I also wonder how the other schools are dealing with this situation. If the reason Centennial said is true, it would be affecting other schools too!

I think because Centennial has clinical in the first semester (full time program map) it affects them a bit more. Other bridging programs like UOIT does not have clinical in the first semester so they moved their classes online and are proceeding with the Sept 2020 start date without any issues.
Hi,
I don’t know if anyone will reply to this but I’m having a difficult time understanding the differences between the hybrid program (part time) vs the flex program (full time). I got into both for Sept 2021 intake. I live in London so I was just curious as to how placement works or how many times a week class is. I don’t want to move so I might choose the hybrid but I also want to finish this program and head onto Ryerson quickly, in that case, I would move. Any suggestions/answers are greatly appreciated!

Hi, I'm currently in the flex bridging program.
Hybrid is a part-time program broken down to 6 semesters. Each semester varies but you will have 1-3 courses. The program is also fully online.
Flex is 3 semesters and considered full-time with 3-5 courses per semester. There will be some days you will go into the school for lab (unless the pandemic closes the schools in which case your lab will be online).
As for clinicals, the first clinical (in acute care) is once a week for the entire semester. I'm haven't gotten to the last clinical (in mental health/community) yet so I don't know the details about it.
Hope this helps clear things up!
Hi, thanks so much for replying!
I thought I read on the website that the hybrid program still includes placement in the GTA. Also, how often do you go to school if you have been able to do in person classes? How far are you into the program? It’s also nice that it’s 1 year compared to 2.5 years for the hybrid program. Do you know anything about the Ryerson portion? I believe that I was told if you do the bridging part time, then the Ryerson portion will have to be part time too. Is full time Ryerson 2 years and part time 2.5?
