RPN Bridging to Uni - Centennial/Ryerson

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi All! I have applied to the full time Bridging program at Centennial college for fall 2020. I was then told by admissions that the full time bridging has been cancelled (most likely due to the covid situation and other issues). I do have an offer for the Bridging Flex program, but I am not sure if I should accept the offer as I have read that the program does not go through the Summer and it is 3 semesters. If I accept I would not be able to start University the coming fall - 2021 at Ryerson delaying going to university another year. Also another issue is that once you start bridging as a flex student I have read that you can only get into the part time post diploma program at Ryerson, therefore I am unsure what to do at this point.

Any suggestions?

Hi, thanks so much for replying!

I thought I read on the website that the hybrid program still includes placement in the GTA. Also, how often do you go to school if you have been able to do in person classes? How far are you into the program? It’s also nice that it’s 1 year compared to 2.5 years for the hybrid program. Do you know anything about the Ryerson portion? I believe that I was told if you do the bridging part time, then the Ryerson portion will have to be part time too. Is full time Ryerson 2 years and part time 2.5?

For Hybrid I believe 2 placements you have to go to toronto hospitals, the rest can be done online. I am doing centennial bridging flex, I started in Sept 2020, and will finish in Dec, 2021. After that we can choose either ryerson part time (starts from Jan 2022) or ryerson full time(Sept 2022) for Ryerson. Honestly, in my situation, Ryerson full time takes longer to finish due to valueless waiting time and Summer break.

Hey,
Thanks for your reply. It’s been hard trying to find information about placement because all I knew was that there was some sort of placement in Toronto but not the hours or how often. I decided to accept my offer to the hybrid program but part time. I’m not sure what difference in length the part time or full time portion of Ryerson is but I’d try to choose whatever is done faster. However, I believe that if you started off as part time in Centennial, you have to continue part time in Ryerson. Congrats on almost being done, hang in there for the next few months.

I just wanted to ask you guys if anyone has applied to the Sept. 2021 intake for Ryerson? If you guys are still doing another semester, how does it affect admissions? Are we still gonna hear back from them by the end of June? Anyone know?

I completed the bridging a few years back now I applied for the fall intake to Ryerson to finish up.

Hi,

Anyone knows Centennial bridging full time can switch to bridging flex after starting a semester ?

I heard centennial pn full time can switch to pn flex, but don't know bridging is same.

Hello, I am in the Full time Program starting Sept 7th. Can someone please give me information on how the over all program is? How are the professors? did you/ do you like the program? how is it working on line? group work still? What type of placements did/do you have? having a hard time finding posts about people experiences while in the actual program. thanks

I went through the flex program. Most professors were pleasant and genuinely helpful! The program was OK at best for me. I went straight into bridging after my RPN so some information was repetitive but others went more in depth than RPN courses.

Placements are random. My personal experiences were great - went to cardiology unit one semester and another semester at a mental health unit.

Good luck!
