Since a few of you guys have been accepted (congrats again!), would anyone mind sharing their stats in order to get an idea of the applicant pool for this cohort?

My stats:

GPA for last 60 units – 3.67

GPA for prereqs – 3.45

TEAS score – 84%

My stats (I don't feel too competitive):

GPA Last 60 - 3.2

GPA Prereqs - 3.2

TEAS - 87%

@c0323

The interview was was super easy and quick. There were two interviewers a student and professor. We first started off with “tell me about yourself.” After they asked how have I prepared for nursing school, what would I do if a patient complained about the care they were receiving, how do I work in a team...I can’t rememver much more. The short answer had two options, I can’t remember the exact but hopefully this will help. It asked for you to describe a situation that someone had confided in with you and how you handled it. The other option was describing 4 things that make a team and why.

My stats I can’t remember the exact:

overall gpa: 3.6

science gpa: 3.0

TEAS: 82

If you have any questions feel free to message me. Best of luck! Your going to do awesome ?

@dd1031

Congrats on your acceptance!! I'm so happy for you. Thanks for the interview tips... Going to utilize this information if I get an interview next month. Haha.

I’m not positive what was counted for my gpa because i took extra classes after finishing my bachelors but from my bachelors degree i had an overall gpa of 3.2, sciences 2.8, and TEAS 82%!

@AT991

Be sure to send your advisor an email at least 1 to 1.5 weeks before the last day invites go out to check on your application status and whether or not you’ll be invited for an interview.

In my case, I had an issue where my file was misplaced. So, I would’ve been waiting around for an invite had an advisor not contacted me regarding my transcripts.

It doesn’t hurt to be too cautious. ?

Good luck to you! Keep us updated!

@nurseb00

Thank you! Congrats on your acceptance!!

@dd1031

I’m still a little nervous, but it’s helped a lot to get an idea of the interview. So, thank you so much for your interview tips and for offering more help if needed! I really appreciate it.

Congrats again!

@c0323

For sure! I will keep that in mind... Sometimes the advisor takes some time to get back on emails, so I'll make sure to give myself enough time! I will certainly keeo you posted, same goes to you ? Good luckkk!

Hi Everyone!

I applied for the February ‘19 cohort and was deemed an alternate candidate because both campuses were already full.

I did the rollover application and was accepted into the July ‘19 cohort on February 1st.

I am super excited! I am hoping some of you on here will be my classmates!

if any can answers my questions about the program I would greatly appreciate it- Past, present, or future students?

1. How many students are typically in a group together?

2. For the clinicals, I know a drug test is required. Is it urine or follicle test? -Just wondering because I take CBD which has a small amount of THC in it.

And the background check? How did that go? I had a couple traffic tickets and I’m a little worried.

Thank you!!

1) My cohort has test groups of 7 or 8. We started with 36 people, lost 2, and picked up 3 so now we have 37.

2) Urine.

3) Traffic tickets should not be an issue. They are looking for things like felonies and sex offenses, they are not looking to exclude everyone who isn't perfect.

@Kiwipeach

First off, congrats on your acceptance!

I had a drug test (urine) done during EMT school. At the center, I was told that the drug test is the same whether it’s for EMT school, nursing school, etc.

With that said, two of my classmates were removed from the program due to THC showing up in their drug tests. (They also were taking CBD.) So, I would consider speaking to someone at Roseman about this to make sure you don’t face possible consequences.

As for the background check, it’s standard, too. Like @paisling said, it’s mainly to check for felonies. The only time I’ve heard of traffic violations being an issue is if you’re applying for a job to drive an ambulance. But, that’s, of course, dependent on whether or not your employer is strict about potential employees’ driving records.

Has anyone started a facebook group for the Henderson Cohort? I would do it but I have no idea how:(
