Roseman University ABSN July 2019

Published

Hi, everyone!

Since the application has opened, I wanted to start a thread for those applying to Roseman University for entry in July 2019.

I look forward to hearing from you guys!

@AT991

Congrats!!

Since the information I received about the interview from others on here was so helpful, I’ll pay it forward and offer up my experience as well.

For my interview day, I had the tour and orientation first. This part of the day was about an hour and a half.

After the orientation, we had to choose one out of two questions to answer for the writing sample. The questions change for each interview round, but I would say think in terms of how you would define communication, motivation, etc. But, the writing sample was simple to complete, so don’t stress out about it. I talked to a few people sitting around me, and it was common to have half a page to one page completed in the 15 minutes.

The interview itself was very easy and quick. I was asked four questions. I don’t remember the questions specifically (everything was a blur!), but I do remember I was asked to talk about myself, define professionalism, and to talk through a scenario in which I had to face challenges in the workplace.

Overall, it was laidback and goes by faster than you think. I would definitely say the anticipation of the interview portion is the worst part of the whole day.

You’ll do well! Good luck!

During my interview day, someone from CA asked the same question. The admissions director explained that a sheet would be given on orientation day in June that would list the courses that meet the Nevada constitution requirement. He also reassured us that it wouldn’t be something to worry about before the program starts.

I would still double-check with a counselor, but I hope that helps a bit. ?

Re: the constitution class, I had to take a US history class (not in NV so didn't need that one) and they suggest we take a StraighterLine class for it, so I assume NV constitution will be similar to that - a super easy online course. I did the US history one in about 2 weeks over the Christmas break.

Okay like the previous posts. The interview was easy going. Don’t psych yourself out! If you are able to talk about why you want to be a nurse, you’ll do fine !

I was asked about 4 questions.. something along the lines of..

1. Why / why not is compassion important at work?

2. What does professionalism mean to you?

3. What are three things that prepared you for nursing school ?

4. Tell me about a time where you had to work with a difficult coworker that was not completing their portion of tasks ?

Essay question that I picked was

-Tell me about a challenge/ event that you overcame. How did it make you better, what did you learn from it.

@c0323

Fantastic, the whole psyching out game is inevitable, but I will definitely use this information you have provided me to better prepare myself! Thank you for taking the time... will keep you posted! ?

I was wondering which StraighterLine did you take to satisfy the NV constitution requirement? was it US history I?

I do not attend the NV campus and didn't take NV Constitution, but did need take US History 1 to satisfy "US Constitution" which was/is a requirement for the Utah campus.

Has anyone received an acceptance email yet? I’ve been checking my email constantly since 8AM.

I haven’t gotten an email as well. I’ve been anxiously checking my email too lol

@jie.b I heard the ping for email notification, and my heart leapt. Lol.

I don’t know why today’s wait is worse than the entire 2 weeks we’ve been waiting.

Fingers crossed for us!

@c0323 right?! Hope to hear good news from them soon! I just found out I got accepted at a nearby community college for their ADN program but I’m curious if I got accepted into Roseman lol.

Does anyone know if today is the only day we get them? Or if they will trickle out during the weekend/week. I've been refreshing like crazy!
