Nevada Graduate to California License Processing
Hello! I apologize if this has been asked before. My question may be too specific, any help is appreciated. I am graduating from a Nevada school in a week (BSN) and have started my application for licensure for California. My school doesn't require an Oral Communications class- so I didn't take it. I wonder if this could potentially be a problem? Has anyone here from an NV school successfully transitioned to California? Thank you!

@michelle30, ahh that makes sense now. I'm sure you will apply again in the Spring. Good luck and hope to see you around the campus!

@michelle30, oh man. Yeah. We can only speculate for so long. I hope you get clarification from them sooner than later. Keep your head up ??

UNLV Fall 2019
@michelle30, woah that’s crazy! I’m so sorry. They are pretty strict about the point system and it seems wrong to get 94 as told by them and not get in. Did they tell you what the cutoff score was? I’ve been bugging them with a lot of questions, everyone is so friendly. You should keep in touch until you don’t have confusion anymore

Sorry I gave the wrong calculation! Glad you were able to clarify!

UNLV Fall 2019
@dndlgd, I don’t know. So sorry. I was told that none of the prereqs that are considered for points should still be in progress to apply since we need all the points we can get. However, your adviser might know something more. Definitely verify.

@dndlgd, hi sorry about that. Nurs 299 kicked my butt too. Not sure how to calculate that but if it’s simply omitting Nurs 299, I think I got 88.92. I would call SON to be sure. It won’t hurt, everyone seem helpful there. Agreed with Jessica, it’s your career at stake here.

@dndlgd, What about your Chem 108? Your stats are good. I haven’t calculated yet since Idk your Chem 108 yet but it looks like it would be around 94. I didn’t receive that follow up email either btw. So if your Chem 108 is an A and a B in Nurs 299, I calculated 93.01: grades: 82/22x10= 37.27 pts attempts: 13 pts hesi: 374/8.75= 42.74 overall: 93.01 If I’m mistaken, please correct. Thank you!

Hello @dndlgd! Sorry about that. I can’t even imagine your frustration. I know someone whose score is 93 and got in so if you were calculated at 94, then someone made a mistake. However it doesn’t hurt to recalculate. Do you mind me asking your grades, hesi score and how many times you took classes? We can help calculate @Jessica Colwell

@Jessica Colwell, congratulations! I got my acceptance yesterday, too. @hopefulnurse56, not sure if they are sending emails in one day or multiple. Try to check your spam.

@Jessica Colwell, @Wendy03, @Seda Duru Koruk, just want to verify that they also told you between now and the 15th is when we get the result? Where are you guys at on your points? ?

UNLV Fall 2019
@Jessica Colwell hi! Yeah I went two weeks ago. It started promptly and a little introduction on applying into the program and the basic information if and when you get into the program (contract signing date, orientation date). Nothing really new especially if you’re very familiar with it all. There were about 20 people when I went. After the introduction, they call you one by one and just need you to sign and initial a paperwork ensuring you understood what was talked about basically. Then you can leave after. They don’t calculate points for you

hello, wendy! This thread doesn’t seem to be super active but there’s one in reddit if you just go to unlv’s. I’m looking at 95.6 points. What about you? Also have you signed up for a signing session yet?
