Hi all, I'm enrolled in Excelsior and currently just waiting on my CPNE date, hopefully will catch a cancelation in early December. DW (JjodiiRN) finished in just under 11 months, in fact today is her first day (still at her old job) as a RN (now she's getting paid for what she's been doing for free!! I too will be keeping my same position. Good luck all.

Howdy,

I'm flowerbudd, LPN since June 2006, started in a hospital on ortho/med-surg, then transferred a year later to Pediatrics where I have been ever since. As soon as I graduated I started that fall at a university to work on my pre-reqs, so that after I bridged I could do the univ here ADN-BSN online program. So that's what I plan on doing once I graduate NEXT december, 2009.

I start in January, although if I am lucky I get to do crash clinicals over Christmas break, which is next month!

I have 5 kids, 3 girls, 15, 13, 11, and 2 boys, 9 and 7. Hubby works on the railroad. I'm so relieved to be out of general ed courses and in the clinical and nursing classes finally, although I feel like musical chairs jumping from school to school to do what I need to do lol!

Hey Cap'n - That sounds like a very bright future for you!! I actually had given that some thought as well, however feel I am too old now. This is my 2nd career, and will be finishing up my RN in Spring '09, still contemplating whether I want to go further or not. It seems like when you are in school, it's not a good idea to think about more school-LOL.

Best of luck to you!

Well with the Navy Nurse Canidate Program you have until age 42 to complete a degree. With the Army Nurse Corps you have until age 46. Then there is working for the Department of Defense or Trippler Army Hospital in Hawaii. All secure jobs if your up for change and a bold move. Thankfully my wife is filipina and use to travel and military life. I guess things would be different if I did not have such an understanding wife.

Good Luck!:0)

Hi everyone,

I'm Kris. I just finished LPN school in Tacoma, WA and am starting the RN program at a community college January 5th. I'll be taking my NCLEX-PN next month and am currently finishing up my preceptorship on a med/surg floor noc shift at the children's hospital a few days a week. I'm nervous about the NCLEX but feel pretty confident based on what former students in my program's experiences. (Everyone passed on the first try.) Anyway, I've been a member here for a while and have found it very helpful while doing careplans so thank you everyone!
