ec provides their content guides for free. you must be talking about the practice test ec offers for $60. i personally feel these are essential for success on the concept test. a lot of the same questions that are on the practice test are also on the real test. good luck to you

LPN for 12 yrs, 36y/o mother of 2 children, will finish RN school in 10 days. Oh happy day. It's still so hard to believe that I am here. I still have a final but I have been truly blessed. I was kind of confused on where to work. DO I go back to the nursing home. I love the elderly or do I go to the hospital I precepted at and possible work in CCU where I was offered a job at. I am thinking the CCU. I love it there too.

CCU has so many young nurses in age there and I feel so old but I think I can do it. Wish me blessing on my challenge of doing something more critical than I have ever done.

Good luck to all in all that you do

Peace

Welcome LPNABS, I was pinned on the 5th of this month and the day after went to a NCLEX review course for 3 days (Sylvia Rafield). I hope to take the NCLEX in JAN. I hope that I am not over doing it.

I hope that all goes well with you in your progress to become an RN. I tried to do the College Network but could not buckle down so went the traditional route.

Peace

hello to all,

i guess i never introduced myself! i'm a 39 year old divorced mom of four (girls 20 & 10, boys 17 & 15). i graduated from lpn school in 1989, worked in ltc most of the time, did have a stint with the red cross teaching cna's. i worked 11pm-7am shift most of my career and am finally getting used to days.....though my hours are sporadic d/t school. i'm very lucky to be on salary and have an employer who is flexible. i'm the rnac assistant and can do my job at any hour....i do mds' (medicare and routine) and care plans for 139 residents in a skilled nursing facility. anyway, i finally decided to go back to school...before one of my daughter's classmates became my boss!

somehow we'll get through this, right?

I'm Tracy single mom of 3 kids 4,10,12. Graduated LVN in Oct 2006 passed boards march 07 and have been a nurse consultant for disable adults since May. I have decided to do ISU LVN to RN BSN think this route will work best for me. I am starting from scratch with pre rec's and co rec's so may take me 3-4 full years hopefully shorter. I plan 1yr for the 1st 10 pre-rec's and then 3yrs for the nursing program and take the remaining 8 co rec's during summer and winter breaks.

Welcome Tracy, and good luck! The non-nursing classes are the ones that give me a bit of trouble, but I'm doing OK. You'll do great! :welcome:

That is great. Are you going through The College Network or some other distance learning program?

Tracy,

That is great I admire your determination. It takes a lot of determination to do this with 4 children. Continue to persevere.

I only have 3 kids.....lol not that it would matter with another one......

I'm gonna go through ISU that is the only program that CA accepts. I'm only using TCN if I really have to. I'm starting with sociology and I got a clep study guide and The core and hope to pass with them.

I'm Leslie, 43, and have been an LPN for 13 years. I originally began an RN bridge program in '97, having found out just before the semester started that I was pregnant. Cut to a few weeks later, found out (at 7 weeks) that I was having twins. A high-risk pregnancy and nursing school didn't work together too well, so I dropped out.

I just found out this last week that I have been readmitted to my bridge program and will start nursing classes this summer, hoping to graduate May '09. Go me!
