Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!

hi, my cousin is now at her first sem taking PN, i just want to ask if shes going to shift it to RN course the next sem, will her subjects be credited? thanks
sorry for the question if already posted.

Depends on the school. She should talk to the school she plans to attend to find out what will transfer and what won't. She shouldn't have to take her actual nursing classes over, but some schools will make you repeat comp I or math. Just depends on the schools.

don't feel old. i will be 40 in a few days and i just finished my rn. i started my bridge about a year ago. the beginning of my last semester i found out we were expecting, and i have a history of horrible pregnancies. i just knew my dreams were ending. but i graduated passed boards and now have a beautiful little boy. btw i also have a 5 year old special needs child and a 6 year old. you can do it. we are all here to help you. feel free to pm me.

This is my first time posting so I hope I am doing this correctly.

I have been researching different publishers for the LPN to RN.

Can anyone out there help me out:

What is the difference between RUE and College network?

I am trying to figure out which one to go with.

I am in my mid 40's. I have been an LPN for 25yrs and actually have been away from hands on nursing for about 8yrs, (Iam a work comp nurse).

I am not sure I would even be a candidate for this type of program due to being away from hands on.

However when I looked at a co workers program from College network I looked thru the test at the end and aced it so I thought maybe I can do this.

So any help, insite or advice anyone has ---I would be happy to read it.

I am LPN with 10 years experience. I decided this week to go and get my RN and am doing it through College Network and Excelsior. I have 4 pre-reqs plus my 7 nursing courses to do before my clinical. I am hoping to be done in less than 2 years. I currently work at a residential treatment center working with adolescents with psych disorders. I want to be a school nurse and they do not hire LPNs so that is what made me finally get my RN.

Hi, I just recently graduated in May from RN school. I was an LPN that went on to RN school. It is possible folks, it just seems impossible at times. I took my RN boards last week and found out that I had passed. Another chapter in my life completed. I am 34 years old and have two children and a husband. There is no nursing school where I live, so I had to leave during the week and rent a home in another town 5 hours away. I would travel home on the weekends to see my family. Time did fly by, but I sure hated those Sundays when I had to say goodbye to my kids to leave for school for another week.

Congratulations IdahoGirl on your hard work and dedication. :w00t:I agree it isn't a walk in the park but it can be done. I myself graduated May '06 LPN-RN and I am waiting for my ATT, I had a 1 1/2 hour commute daily up and down (other programs I would have to wait 2 yrs) so my cousin and I did the drive. It's hard work..but it's worth it. Congrats again on your success..I am sure your family is happy to have you back. :yeah: :smiley_aa

absolutely, you can do this! i met with a college network rep and, after she told me which classes i need, i went on ebay to buy the study materials she showed me. i am just getting started and found this to be a lot lest expensive. so, don't get in a hurry to sign a contract with anyone until you have checked them both out. just my 2 cents' worth..........

Miss older nurse too. Let's say over 50, one class away from my excelsior rn program, 2nd career- have worked in a smaller hospital in northern california for over a year now. (3 kids and working on my 4th house purchase!) ready for my rn! good luck to all student nurses--diligent perseverance is the secret to reaching your goal-regardless of age!

I have been an LPN for three years currently enrolled in ADN program at local college, father of three who are 16. 12. and 10. I work ful time in the state mental hospital, carrying 17hours of nursing studies, i hope to graduate May 2006. Thanks for the forum and posting oppurtunity. I am a 40 yr old male who has been an LPN for three years, currently enrolled in ADN program@ a college 60 miles away, carrying 17 hours and working fulltime @ the state mental hospital. I graduated from LPN school in May and began the RN Bridge program this summer. I currently work prn in corrections...a job that brings a daily dose of the unusual. Right now my interests for post RN graduation are ED and NICU, but my interests change quite frequently .
