Published

I havent found any threads on the Spring 2012 Nursing program, soo i figured id start one! I have already recieved an Email saying everything has been recieved, just waiting on my letter to see if I was accepted! Does anyone know when theyll be sent out? Has anyone recieved that email yet? :redpinkhe

I need help on getting to the blackboard. I don't see a name stating "blackboard". Please provide steps by steps instruction on how to get in. (bijin05 @ gmail . com)

Thank you,

1.) First you will have to register and verify your account at https://netid.hccfl.edu

2.) Once at https://netid.hccfl.edu, click on "click here to register your NetID account"

3.) Once the window pops up, enter your name, or the best way is to enter your Web Registration login name, the one that starts with your first inital, followed by your last name, and then a number (if you have a number at the end) mine is k green 26..minus the spaces

4.) Okay, now you should have a new screen that says "Welcome Insert Name Here", make sure that is you, then click on "Register with Password Manager" click on this

5.) New screen is a login screen, the first thing on it should be your username, which they have already entered, and again is the same username you use with Web Registration and Hawknet, the second line should say "Password", enter your password. Your password is the FIRST letter of your FIRST name, CAPITALIZED, followed by the FIRST letter of your LAST name, NOT capitalized, followed by your STUDENT NUMBER. So, an example for Jane Doe, would be Jd0123456

6.) Now you set up your security questions. Once finished, click "Finished"

7.) Okay, you are all done and registered/verified. Close the screen. Unless you forget your password, or need to change it or your security questions, you should not have to visit that page again.

8.) Alright, NOW you can sign into blackboard, which, on the Hcc website is called "MyHCC". Go to the www.hccfl.edu website, at the top of the page, near the links for hawknet and web registration, there is a link that says "MyHcc" click on it.

9.) Your username and password are the ones you just set up on NetId. Just in case, the username is your login for hawknet and web registration, Jane Doe's is jdoe12. Password is first letter of your first name, capitalized, first letter of your last name, not capitalized, student number Jane Doe's is Jd0123456

10.) Login! Annoucements are in the middle, if you have any classes that utilize blackboard, they will be listed on the right under "My Courses"

I'm emailing this to you too, just in case this post is "revised" by Allnurses for something I wasn't supposed to list. Tried to keep it generic, but ya never know.

RnTraining, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I followed your instructions and got in.

Does anyone have an extra book coupon (10%) that I could have? I can't find mine anywhere. If you have an extra and not using, please let me have it.

Thank you,

Yuko1960, I am interested in buying the books. I sent you an e-mail with my phone number. my e-mail, bijin05 @ gmail . com

I tried WIA and they denied me b/c I am already working in a job that is demand. I went through the whole process, which sucks.

We can meet at HCC or another place. Please give me a call or e-mail.

Thanks

I still can't get into blackboard. I keep getting a webpage restore error. I put in the ticket, and all I got back was a "try the netid thing" and I've been on blackboard before. I don't understand why I have to register a username that I have already utilized. Oh well. When I did do the netid thing, it came up with a username for me that I have NEVER used on blackboard.

uhg.

ETA:

I followed your instructions. I got in. I was using an old link to blackboard that I used when I was in A&P. I don't know why they changed it, but they did. I feel like a complete tool now.

Just ignore my ramblings....

I recently finished the rest of my prereqs this semester I wanted to know do you have to submit actual paper transcripts or is it okay if the school has the most recent transcripts on file? I have attended another university and a trade school. Im worried because schools will be closed for the holidays!

I attended HCC many years ago and then transferred to USF and graduated. I then went back to HCC to take some courses and when I applied for the nursing program, I had to submit my USF's transcript along with my application.

1. If you are referring to your HCC transcript, then no, you do not have to submit it along with your nursing appl.

2. If you stated on HCC's application that you attended another university and HCC does not have your transcript for that school, then you would have to submit it with your appl.

Just in case, you may want to call and ask someone from the nursing department

I can't find it now, but someone was saying about their financial aide being rejected? I went in the other day and saw I had the same "message". I just went over and checked, and it's the same thing. Says I have a balance with the school, and my financial aide was rejected.

I'd hate to have to go talk to someone next week (since it'll be so crazy with the first day of classes begining) but it appears that I'm going to have to. Wonder if it's just part of the deferment process, or if something was overlooked.

Did anyone else (including the first person who posted this) have this problem? fix this problem? know what the problem is?

Hi a_pattee,

My financial aid says the same... REJECTED!!!! Yes, we have to go down to the financial aid office to get them to correct it in the system... I hate when this happens (It has happened to me before)... Good thing I got a defferment before this darn system change messed it up... I will be at the Financial aid office at 7:15 on Tuesday (waiting for it to open) to get this thing straighten out... I hate to wait in those long lines so hopefully by me being there early I could be in and out...
