Roll Call Hillsborough community college Spring 2012 Nursing

Published

I havent found any threads on the Spring 2012 Nursing program, soo i figured id start one! I have already recieved an Email saying everything has been recieved, just waiting on my letter to see if I was accepted! Does anyone know when theyll be sent out? Has anyone recieved that email yet? :redpinkhe

I just checked my e-mail and I did not receive anything about my file is complete.

I got the email saying my file was complete...I too was filled with excitement, now there is no possible way, short of unforseen disasters, that I will not start on January 9th, and if there IS an unforseen disaster, you can be assured I will most definitely be having a "word" with God about it, fortunately, I am not of the puritanical view that God is angry, I believe he wants this for me just as much if not more than I want it for myself :-)

@bijin05, I would send an email to lynn just asking her to confirm that everything is complete for your file. I'm sure she wouldn't mind.

I suggest exchanging email addresses, also, with all of the different technologies and websites the worldwide web offers, I find it hard to believe that there isn't already some sort of online study group website that we can create a group on, I will do a little research. But email might be the most simple.... or FB, FB can be kind of annoying, but we can do that too if everyone prefers , in order to share notes and tips.

Also, a_pattee, as soon as my finals are over, which will be Friday, I am going to start studying using the older editions of the potter/perry and calculations book. I would be more than happy to create a word doc with all the pertinent info from in it and send it to you. It might take me a little time, but I should have it done and emailed to you by the 20th, which will give you a little more of a headstart. I absolutely do not mind doing it, as I was planning on it anyways since condensing and typing this stuff out helps me to learn the information. At least this way, when you are able to buy the books on Jan 3rd, you will at least have a general understanding of the info, and can then concentrate on the finer details, instead of having to start from scratch.

I know you've said elsewhere on here, but I, honestly, am feeling kind of lazy right this very minute, and do not feel like searching lol. Are you in DM afternoons? or some other class?

Oh! Also, I was thinking that at the end of every semester we should all have a little Allnurses get-together to congratulate ourselves on a job well done. I know, putting the cart before the horse and all that, but I've been thinking that I really want to meet all of you, and keep in touch with how everyone is progressing.

I am in the nights/weekends class.

I would be EXTREMELY greatful if you shared your typed info with me RnNtrainng!

I agree that there is probably some kind of website for this sort of thing. When my daughter was in virtual (online) school, they had "classroom" time, and I wonder if we could use that. They were able to post things. Maybe there would be room on blackboard? Facebook might be the "easiest" but you are right, sometimes it's a little annoying.

A get-together every semesters end would be a great way to pat each other on the back, and relax.

I found 2 places (it wasn't a real instense search, cause I know someone else is doing a deeper search than me LOL) one is RCampus: https://www.rcampus.com

and Google Groups: http://www.google.com/intl/en/googlegroups/overview.html

Just something to think about. I REALLY like this idea! I think it would be a great benefit too all of us involved, and especially those of us who can't make it to a "traditional" study group.

ETA: I got a lot of ideas from this article.

Hello everyone,

Just a FYI.... For all of the people that are in the Dale Mabry 1-4 class for nursing there is a message on blackboard from the teacher... (NOT HAWKNET) Log into your Blackboard and go under messages and she sent a message to us on Thursday letting us know what to read... Just in case you haven't set up a user name and password I want to share it with you... We are to read Chapters 39 Vital Signs and Chapter 39 Hygiene. Also, Chapters 1-8 in clinical calculations and omit Chapter 7 only read up to enteral feedings. We do not have to know body surface area or apothecary system information. She did not post the syllabus because she states she needs to make corrections.

Hope this helps!

happy studying! lol

Kiki

Correction Chapter 37 and 39... Sorry

So, it is Chapter 37 Vital Signs and 39 Hygiene...

a_patee, we both have the same clinical site, TGH. I am second on the list if you are wandering. Check your e-mail, the teacher sent the info.

I am so sorry Dale Mabry 1-4... It is chapters 32 Vital Signs and 39 Hygiene... Man, I guess I was looking cross eyed...LOL... IDK... But I am very sorry... This is the correct chapters. I verified with the mail. Again i apologize...

Thanks KikB, I had noticed yesterday that Nursing Process I had been added to my courses in Blackboard, but didn't have time to go through yet, going to go do that now and read the msg from her!
