Hi a pattee, I hope that they can work with your schedule... I am in the same situation. If they can't work with your schedule, would you like to switch with me? I really really hope they can work with you though... My job on the other hand is not budging... I'm really sad about that because I really like what I do and I get paid very well... Anywho, if you are interested please let me know..
Wings Program:
If you go to this website and it will give you information about the program... I tried to contact the coordinator today with no luck... So I will try again tomorrow...

a Pattee, the Wings program is a grant program that awards partial tuition, book vouchers, and child care assistance depending on needs. It is for AS and AAS students. You have to receive Pell grants in order to qualify. That is all the info that I know of right now, until the director of the program gets back with me. Here is a link for the program: http://www.hccfl.edu/current-students/wings.aspx

Hey guys, I'm all late but wanted to say congrats to you all and also a HUGE THANK YOU for all the info on this thread! So, my lil bit of contribution is this link http://www.scrubologyshop.com/savings.aspx If you sign up, you can get 20% off the Scrubology department at Sears. I paid less than $16 for 2 white Dickies tops today with the coupon. Happy shopping! :)
Might just look into the WINGS program as well.
I can't wait until next week!!! I'm so excited to get everything set in motion. I feel like I'm just sitting here, and school will never get here! (but of course, then it'll be over before we know it)
RnNtrainng, that is AWESOME news! I'll have to look into that too! It would be great to be able to bridge over to an MSN.

:heartbeat Hello girls!!! I miss chatting too. I have been so busy at work with a new program that they started on Oct 1st. It's driving me crazy, but the OT is good. I haven"t done any shopping, but I do have a white top and think wine bottoms too. For now I think is good enough. Also have a stethoscope. I think I will look into the Wings program too. Thanks for the info everyone. Did you ended up going shopping with simmola? Can't wait 'til next week to meet you all.

Okay, well..called the Wings program today and left a voicemail, also sent an email..still waiting on a reply.
In other news: If you are planning on continuing your education after HCC, I just found out some AMAZING news. USF has a program called the RN-MS Accelerated Graduate program. Admission requirements include: Associate's Degree in Nursing, must NOT have a Bachelor's degree, RN license, and 3.5+ GPA. If you have the above when we graduate HCC, you can get into the program.
This program is 15 credits...so approx 1 semester long if full time, or 2 semesters if part time. Also, all but three of the courses are online, the three that aren't online are clinical hours. Once you finish the 15 credits you are awarded a Bachelor's Degree AND A Master's Degree in your choice of
Adult Nurse Practitioner
Adult Nurse Practitioner / Occupational Health Dual Degree
Family Nurse Practitioner
Nursing Education
Clinical Nurse Leader
Oncology Nurse Practitioner
I just about wet my britches when I found this out. That means that, supposing all goes well at HCC, approximately 6 months to 1 year after graduating with our ASN we can have our MSN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
