Hi Everyone!!! I hope everyone is having a Terrific Tuesday!!! I forgot to post the Nursing Student Manual... They "supposedly" have this in the book store for sale... Not sure why if we can print it offline for free lol... Here is a copy of it... You may want to bring it to orientation because I am sure they are going to go over it then... Here you go!!! Enjoy the rest of your day!! (you may have to copy in paste this into your web browser) More information to follow...

Hello and welcome! I feel ya on the whole excitement thing when reading others acceptance letters...I felt the same rush when I read last years nursing hopefuls' posts!
So who all is going to be DM Afternoons? I've seen a lot of you are DM nights and Plant City.
Also, has anyone applied for the Wings program? I'm going to call and get information tomorrow...but if anyone had any they could offer up that would be great. I know that scholarships deadline was the 15th, but I'm not sure if Wings is part of that or not, so I'm wondering if they have the same deadline. I don't really need it for the tuition, but the book voucher would be great...otherwise I'm going to have to purchase the perry/potter and drug calc books on the websites you all recommended, and then wait to get the package during Bookcharging...I was really hoping to be able to get the package at orientation since it will be cheaper then...but $600 just does not want to appear in my hand. I'm not sure why..I mean..I keep saying "Accio Six Ben Franklins" and waving my wand...I think maybe the goblins took it from my bank last night.
Lol RnNtraining!!! I think we all need magical powers...lol from my understanding the wings program is year round... I could be wrong but that's what I've read in the past post (years ago) so things could be different.. if u call them tomorrow do u mind letting us know please... I will also try to call in da morning and post the answer for u...
Absolutely. I stay up until about 6am and then sleep until 2ish, so the post won't be until later in the afternoon. If you do get a chance to call, great..if not, don't worry I will be posting everything I find out..just not until later in the day. Which, btw, I have to start working on changing my schedule in order to be ready by January. Boo...I LIKE being up late.....at 3am everyone else is asleep and leaves me alone, AND even when I get bored and try to create stuff for myself to do (which is what I do during the day...I can't just relax) everything is closed so I am forced to relax! :-D
On another note: Do you think they'll let me wear these shoes for clinicals (attachment at bottom)
I LOVE getting to go out and buy all the nursing and medical themed stuff. I feel so special and "included" for want of a better word. Like I'm part of something big and great...which of course... we all are. I feel like I've been working towards this for so long, that now it is here I can't help but pinch myself every so often to remind myself that this is REALLY HAPPENING!
I can't wait to graduate...when it comes time to do so..going to celebrate and get my first, and only, tattoo...obviously somewhere easily hidden while at work, probably on my back. Going to get it as a badge of honor. I swear I'm obsessing with all of this stuff...but I can't help it...it's so much fun! This is it basically...with the red a little more red and the blue a little more blue, and also a bit smaller, and definitely not on my arm. I don't know if you all can see the pic, if not here is the link.
One week!
I met with my DON, and told her I needed to have Saturdays off for clinicals, and she told me she would have to "get back to me on that one". Apparently, even after I told her that my clinicals would be on Saturdays, she didn't really internalize it until I said something today. I figured "Hey, I got my acceptance letter, and I'm going nights and weekends" would've been a big hint. Apparently not. :-(
I think that I may have to change shifts. Not sure that I really want to, but if I have to, I certainly will!
Can't wait!
BTW, what is the Wings Program?

Hey everyone! I stumbled across this thread back in July, and then came back across it a few days ago. My how it has grown!
I got into DM nights and weekends. I'm so excited to start! I got excited for all you guys when you posted about your acceptance letters (even if it was posted months ago, I still got giddy. I just imagined you guys doing what I did when I read that first word....) I was REALLY excited to go into my webadvisor and see the "AS.NUR.NURB A.S. - Nursing / A.D.N. Basic" instead of applicant. It's getting close, and although I'm excited, I'm a bit scared.
You guys are WAY more organized than I am. I didn't know anything about the uniform colors, or that they would be selling books at orientation if we wanted. Thank you for being a wealth of information!!!! Looks like I'll be spending my Monday/Wednesday nights with some of you guys, and every Saturday!
Grats to all of you!!!! And I know things will work out for all of us, I have to talk to my DON about my schedule at work also. I'm afraid of the kind of schedule I'm going to have to work in order to keep my full time status.
