Who's starting pre-nursing for an RN program this fall and what school will you be attending?
I start Aug 16th at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach, Va
Class starts on Friday for me and I'm freaking out. I wanted to start reading my A&P book but I haven't gotten it yet(I ordered it online). I feel so nervous about this, mainly because a lot of people have said that they have had to repeat A&P. I know I'm over-reacting but I can't help myself. Somebody please cyber-slap me. Thanks

That's a natural response...seeing or hearing students that have to take a class over! As long as you listen...study...You will do fine~Ecspecially with the help from others that will be taking ANP the same time as you~Not to mention the ones that have already have taken the class! I went in to ANP wondering how was I ever going to get thru it...Well, I did! I passed ANP1...ANP2 with an A! ANP3 is this Fall! Now that's something I'm nervous about...not to mention Microbiology...Everyone tells me it's hard to pass with an A...That's something I will find out myself, leaving negative comments behind! God Bless! Melissa

Classes start next week (regional campus of Indiana Univ.) but I'm not sure I'll be there as DH wants me to wait. I'm enrolled in Intro to Psych, one of the prereqs that I don't have, though I have a BS (1984). I'm excited about nursing and his (lack of) support is taking the wind out of my sails a bit.
Fighting with the school about English composition because I got advanced credit from my undergrad school based on SAT/ACT scores. This school won't take another school's advanced standing credits so I'm having to jump through hoops. Never mind I took an upper level English class at this school (as a nondegree-seeking student) and got an A in it.
My twins start 5th grade tomorrow!
While my DH was somewhat supportive, I don't think he knows what this will all entail. It took me about three weeks before I could even talk to him about it and he still really doesn't want to hear the details. I feel for you and have a sense of what you are going through. I wish these guys would understand that we are doing this not only for ourselves, but for the family. That old saying about when mom is happy, everyone is happy is very true!
Good luck and hang in there.

Hey all - 2nd year of pre-reqs starting in September...Fall - A&P I, Child Development, Spanish (no doubt it'll help me later, eh?), History (yuck, but unfortunately, the college requires it), orchestra (that violin is sometimes the only thing that keeps me halfway sane, lol) and a PE class... Spring - A&P II, more Spanish, orchestra, and other stuff that I don't know yet, lol!! All for NS for Fall '06, with luck!!
Good luck to everybody!!

I'm starting my Orientation at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio on August 24, but my actual pre-nursing classes start th 31st! Very excited!
Classes:
Chemistry (not looking forward to it, but, hey, maybe it'll be fun)
Anatomy and Physiology (can't wait to dissect something! Yeah, I'm weird; I know it and now you know it. Nice everyone shares the same knowledge, right? )
Psychology I
Psychology of Human Development
Sociology
The Psychology and Sociology courses look REALLY FUN!
